I bought online (I know I had to pay shipping) but it seemed worth it because I bought 3 games that are not yet out! I know, two of these games don't even come out until next year but I already paid my money, so they cannot cancel on me :)

Wife and I went to TRU this evening. Holy crap. We waited too long. Our TRU on Hamilton Rd in Columbus OH was wiped out -- there were tumbleweeds blowing through the Wii aisle. The cashier said people started lining up at 3:30 am, and the prime stuff was gone at open. The glass display case was left opened and unlocked, with only a few titles left to pick over.

I did manage to snag BWii, Fire Emblem, and Rabbids 2 on one purchase using the $25 gift card from buying Galaxy last week, then used the $10 gift card we received from that checkout to buy Banana Blitz, Zak & Wiki, and NFS: Carbon. So, all told, with the free $49.99 game, the free $29.99 from todays two checkouts, plus the $25 and $10 gift cards, we got back $115 from TRU in free Wii titles over the last three days -- basically bought four and got three free.

I guess I'll have to get online to order Battle Revolution, Strikers, and MP3.

Huge thanks for the heads up on the sale, though, Bodhesatva! Saved me a ton of money!

ONE LAST TIP:

You absolutely can return games later and exchange them for titles that may currently be sold out. So, for example, if you wanted Guitar Hero or Super Mario Galaxy or RE:UC, you could wait for those games to come in and then return one of the games you currently have in exchange. Two limitations:

1) The games you return have to be unopened

2) The games you exchange for have to be released by the end of the sale. So, for example, you couldn't return a game next month and buy NiGHTS when it's released.

Otherwise, you're fine. The return period is 45 days, so if you can find a game you want before early next year -- in ANY Toys R Us -- go get it.

Woo Hoo. I bought RRR2 today hoping to exchange it upopened for RE:UC! I'm in!
