... What IS that on top of the 360? o.O

I don't blame Insomniac, or any other developers that are shunning Natal, I mean, it's being marketed by Fable legend Peter Molyneux, which means he's going to get it overhyped for a start, and to be honest, it seems like it's getting too much anyway.

Sure, it's all motion hands free blah blah, but with only 30FPS, it's got some limitations there, and I haven't heard anything about it being 1:1 with the user either o.O

I'm more interested in the PS Wand, I mean, sure it's like the Wii, but Sony aren't hyping it as if it's new and revolutionary, AND it seems better in technical terms, since it can capture up to 120FPS (Well, this is the PS Eye), and it SHOULD in theory be easier to develop for due to it being similar to the WiiMote.

Anyone can agree or disagree with me here, it's all opinions, but what I think Microsoft doing is making a big mistake.

Im with you on these points.  The wand (or Arc now isnt it?) does not revolutionize anything, but it will provide a needed bridge between the Wii and the HD consoles.  This might bring some real synergy between releases on both consoles.

As far as Natal is concerned.  Im much more interested in the tech behind it than in anything it can do for gaming.  The idea is good, I just think the timing is way off.  Next gen (say everything in full 3D? heres hopin :)  this type of tech would be awesome.

Does anyone who only owns a 360 really care about Insomniac? On that note, when's the last time they revolutionalized anything?

EDIT: And saying Natal "needs to fail" is trolling plain and simple.

This

Ill wait to reserve judgement until i see how natal pans out. It has my interest but it better have some good titles if they expect me to buy it

Long Live SHIO!

MS and Sony realise one of the big impediments to gaming is the controller (Nintendo already knows this) and while hardcore gamers will not approve of Natal (I don't care about it much though I'm willing to give it a try) the mass market especially women might start playing games cause of it. This is MS vision and the mass market won't care about a few milli seconds of lag or the fact that it can't go more the 30fps (most games can't anyway). There will still be room for the control pad, both will live side by side at least for a while.

I would have said something much different if I was trolling, that's simply an opinion. All I see are interactive simulators and exercise stuff, on top of mini games. They already took out the internal processing unit, most likely due to cost, which means they need to sacrifice one of the tri-core to be dedicated to it, and that's ass.

This would be like listening to Turn 10 comments about competitors.

Agree with Insomniac and the idea of Natal needing to fail... so does the PS Arc. Motion controls = bleak future.

i dont care about imsomniac...its a ps3 only company...what else r they suppose to say 0.o

I wouldn't have expected any less from Insomniac. They make 'Sony only' games and even though they aren't owned by Sony I expected a Sony-centric response as well. You will work on Sony's new peripheral wii+eyetoy combo thingy and call it a day. If anyone needs this to confirm some stupid belief it's quite sad.

I'm sure they know pretty well. Eyetoy has been out for a long time.

@badassbab

While I do agree this is mostly for mainstream gamers who won't care about the lag, I have to say they will care about something: Price. There's no way mainstreamers are going to drop $300 (I'm going to guess this thing is going to need a HDD, but I could be wrong) plus ~$100 for the cam. Not when they can pick up a $200 Wii, with very similar games, and get everything in the box. People should just face it, the Wii won the mainstream audience this gen and nothing is going to change this.
