What is this? About the 20th time some Sony has made a press statement and people jump all over it like it's fact? Not only that, people are asking the sites data be updated, even though noone can can conclusively verify exactly what the stat is measuring.

Yes, lets change the sites stats every time a company issues a press statement, even though we can't be certain of the exact details because the statement was too vague. That will really improve things...

guys, Sony only announces figures sales to retailers, not consumers. Sony, and pretty much any big company, only tracks their own sales which, in this case, is PS3's sold to retailers.

If you include black friday then yes

should be very near 6.5 million considering thats when alot of the christmas sales occur.

But lets do some math.

With it being 4 weeks left in november, currently its selling 127k a week world wide.

Times that by 4 and you get 480k consoles, about half a million so it should easily hit the 6 million by end of november, specially with black friday coming up.

Long as it boosts sales (maybe 600k for those 4 weeks) and that black friday (good boost) couuld be a little less then 6.5 heck maybe more...

Yes,360 and wii numbers could be off as well.In fact when microsoft announced it had 430k in france last month vgchartz had it at 530k ...so at least the 360 is overtracked.

@FishJoe: What people? I've seen only one person (Diomedes1976) who said that vgchartz numbers will be adjusted. All others just discuss numbers and noone beside Diomedes seem to bu sure that this is right figure of units sold to customer neither asking numbers on vgchartz to be changed.

From the first paragraph in that article, "100 000 personnes qui ont acquis la dernière console" Doesn't that translate to "100,000 people have bought the console"? that would suggest it's sold to consumer. Still seems a very high number though. That puts france above Japan and alomst level with the USA for PS3 slaes.
