SHMUP, why do you have to wait so long?

I felt bad for having to wait until friday to play it ^^

 Its not released here (North America) until tomorrow.. and I don't think any of the local retailers are doing midnight sales. Its a shame really, it'll probably outsell Halo 3 in the long run but the launch isn't nearly as hyped.

 My local Toys R' Us (Newport News, Virginia) is not doing the $25 gift card promotion.  I don't know if its a chain-wide sale or just in a particular region?

I am forced by my parents to wait until Christmas, even though it comes out Nov. 16th.

I'm tempted to watch that first-few-levels video.

My local Toys R Us (Chicago) is doing the $25 gift card deal...unfortunately I'm a busy person, the nearest Toys R Us is now 10 miles away after the closest one closed...and the easiest roads to get there are either under construction or always busy.

If I can find it today, I'm just gonna buy it...it's not worth the time and gas to get that $25 gift card if I can play Mario today...and since I haven't preordered, Toys R Us might sell out anyway.

Apparently local Best Buys have the game but won't sell it until tomorrow. I was kind of annoyed at the conversation actually..

Me: "Do you have any copies of Super Mario Galaxy in stock?"
Him: "We have 75 copies in, but I won't sell them to you yet."
Me: [confused by phrasing] "Can't or Won't?"
Him: "Our database shows it is released the 13th."
Me: "Really? Nintendo's official site shows the 12th."
Him: "Hmm, ok I will have to check personally, can you call me back?"
Me: "I suppose...."

I call him back 30 minutes later...

Me: "So did you find the info?"
Him: "Yes, Nintendo's site has it listed as today, but our site has it listed as tomorrow."
Me: "Great so you can sell me a copy since you know its off right?"
Him: "No! Thats not what I said!"
Me: "Uhm, ok, but then what was the point of checking Nintendo's website if you weren't going to release it anyways?"
Him: "I can't sell it early, you will just have to deal with it."
Me: "Wow, nice customer service skills....have a nice day."

I understand he doesn't want to get in trouble...but the way he basically says yup I have copies but you can't have them was pretty lame. But the really annoying part was having me call him back despite never intending to release it. And the part that was over the top was "just deal with it". In any case, I will probably get it from TRU tomorrow since he won't sell them today, TRU has a better deal and in general I don't feel like patronizing their store any time soon after that.

Kind of funny since BB has been selling it for a week now in some places =P

Some best buys were selling the game at Midnight, heaps of people at GAF and other forums are playing the game now.

I don't know for sure, again... it's another 16 days away here... but still the more people that can play it as early as possible the merrier.

I went to all of the malls, and every single video game store that I can think of, and nobody has it! Why??? The earliest I can get it is tommorow... And that's after work! That's way too long! I'm going to have to go through 8 hours of work, dreaming about the game I will never get... Unit work is over... And that is a big "no-no" in my book. I need this game now!!! I have searched Craigslist... Nothing! I have searched local listings on eBay... Nothing! I am doomed!

By the way, it's not 3:33 A.M. It's 4:50 P.M. You're wrong!
