Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Phoenix Wright or Max & the Magic Marker

I somehow stumbled across 2000 Wii points card for £14.99 in GAME (I think it may have been stickered wrongly, but their loss) so I bought it as I was wanting Lost Winds 2 anyway... and thought I might get Phoenix Wright with it, but I am not so certain anymore, particularly as Max & the Magic Marker is also out and looks interesting as well.

Does anyone have M&tMM or Phoenix Wright... and can you explain a bit more about what goes on in them, especially how long they should take to complete 1st time, and what kind of replay value I might get.

I am also considering Excite Bike (assuming it is also going to be 1000 points) which is coming to Europe in a couple of weeks... Is that any good? the simplicity of it is putting me off to be honest, but perhaps there is more to it than meets the eye.

Phoenix Wright is a brilliant game. You can't go wrong with it.

Edit: Can't remember how much game time it has, I was too absorbed to take note. It has zero replayability though. DS version is better too but obviously the WW version is cheap.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

You can play a demo version of M & MM here if you haven't already.

id go with max. phoenix wright wiiware is ok but its just a port.

If you've never played PW, get it. It's brilliant. You won't regret it. Takes a LONG time to complete, too. And it way cheaper than getting the DS version, anyway.

Seriously, get PW.

I OBJECT to Max & the Magic Marker.

I think you should buy Phoenix Wright first!

Definitely go for Phoenix Wright. The first game took me around fifteen hours, and it has some of the best writing in the industry.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

When in doubt, always get Phoenix Wright.

Phoenix Wright is very good, but it is a bit of a lazy effort, eh? Max is original and different. It's shorter, but it is good fun. Try to get both if you can, but I would choose to reward the effort and give the smaller developer the cash.
