back in my favorite gaming days: the goldeneye days. i played my brother (who was very good and the best of everyone i knew besides me cuz he was the only one that could occasionally beat me), and two other friends who were each decent in 3-on-1 at the stack with grenade launchers. i ended up winning 20 to -4 having not died once and the only kills they could manage were on each other 4 times. i remember grenades exploding right next to me and being engulfed in flame as it knocked me away yet still surviving. it was unreal, i was invincible that game. it was the most perfect gaming experience i will ever have.

a couple of my other favorites are:

when myself, my brother, and a friend beat super mario bros. 3. i had never even gotten close before world 8 is so hard. however that was also my worst gaming moment cuz when we got to bowser my friend played against him first and died twice, then i was about to take the controller but he gave it to my brother instead and he said "come on, its not like he's gonna beat it on the first try" and then my bro defeated bowser and i never got to face him. one day i hope to get back to bowser!

and finally i'm gonna have to go with two thing in tetris on the NES. one was when i got 175 lines, which was not amazing in its own right cuz my best score is 191 which i've gotten twice, but i got 32 tetri that game which was 14 more than ever before and when my previous best score had been 199 thousand i ended up with 363,155 points. i still hope to one day break 200 lines. the other tetris memory was in college we had a couple bands (Long Since Forgotten and Fire When Ready) play at my house and after the show one of the bands was playing tetris on my NES and they couldn't even get to 100 lines. so i decided to show off and played one game, i destroyed my previous best by like 15 lines and got 169. the guys in the band were going crazy. they were like shouting when i made some sick moves. they were so amazed that they starting filming me after i was had finished on the same tape that they had recorded their show on and they were saying i was a tetris god. nothing like being popular cuz of a single great game of tetris.

anyway now i'm off to try to get SMG at toys r us!!

end of '08 predictions: wii - 43 million,  360 - 25 million, ps3 - 20 million

Games I've beat recently: Super Mario Galaxy, Knights of the Old Republic, Shadow of the Collossus

Proud owner of wii, gamecube, xbox, ps2, dreamcast, n64, snes, genesis, 3DO, nes, atari, intellivision, unisonic tournament 2000, and gameboy

Hard to say.. I think the first time I saw Pitfall II playing at a Ward's on an Atari 2600 and seeing how much larger the levels were and especially the incredible multi-channel music (a breakthrough for that day and age) But, I think that other moments in the running would be the point where I realized how awesome Metroid Prime 3 is... or maybe last night in my first gaming session with Mario Galaxy and realizing I had a perpetual grin on my face because I haven't had that much new 'old school' fun in a long long time. Naaah.. scratch all that. I decided. My favorite "moment" was actually the car ride home with my parents after picking up a NES and staring at the wonderfully 'awesome' (yet blocky) Mario printed on the side of the box. aaaah.. memories.

On a sidenote about great gaming moments, Ico updated on the game database. Enjoy.

Was starting to feel old, untill this.  I loved Ultima 7 and finished it.  Playing Sir Doom (4 player doom over a BBS).  My all time favorite game was Ultima Underworld 2.  Being young on my 386 in a dark room with all of my manuels spread out over the desk.  Exploring the depths of the underworld, great story and depth.

I would have to say that (as mentioned by others) the GANON battle in tOot was the coolest thing ever.

Next to that would be the first time I fought Phalanx, the thirteenth colossi from Shadow of the Colossus.

Aeris... the first time, I had no idea. Ground breaking, really.

Finally, getting every medal in RFOM multiplayer. Over 5000 games and a 2.2 K/D. Makes me feel like a Bad-arse.

Oh yeah, and walking for 3 hours in that d@#N! forest with Shenhua only to get to that cave and see the sword and game over! WTF man! Then waiting in vain to see how the story will end. SEGA... you are no friend of mine. Still, a favorite gaming moment and a least favorite gaming moment all in one.

The single most exhilarating moment in any game I've ever played has to be the first horseback battle in Twilight Princess.

i loved that moment

There are two fantastic moments from that game. One is the scene where Link opens the doorway to the Master Sword. The three spiritual stones setting in place, the triforce symbol lighting up, and the doors rumbling open in time with the percussion crash just drive it home.

The second is after you've defeated Ganondorf, and you've gone running out of his tower as it collapses around you, and he comes flying out of the wreckage with deep red glowing spots where his eyes used to be, and screams and writhes as his body is enveloped in a bright blue aura. Most bosses get a little subtitle when they're introduced, but this huge monstrosity flailing around his bigger-than-Link swords can only be described as "GANON".

those were probably my favorite part of the game

it tied b/t beating RE 4 three times before finding out that all you had to do was shoot out the chains on the lava pit fire dragons.......or the first time you get teh typewriter..... had a friend laugh and say he knew about the chains from the start...but then again he used a walkthru i did not--so guess who got the last laugh

One memorable moment was in the first Resident Evil. When you go into the hall and see the first zombie, eating a corpse.
