I don't think Console Software sales this Gen have been all that good compared to Handhelds. Also, just about any game that sells millions in Japan is a Nintendo game on the DS or Wii.

Not true since the GC only had one million seller in Japan (Animal Crossing might make it two) just being made by Nintendo doesn't mean millions of sales in Japan, PS2 had plenty, but the point being GBA had some nice sales but nothing compared to when the gameboy dominated or DS now GBA was the second place console during the PS2 era, the DS just replaced it, while the Wii is second place to it.

Wow I never looked at it in that way.

So technically Wii & PS3 are outpacing their direct counterparts & DS is pwning as usual!!!!

I think last year until the slim released, the consoles HW sales in Japan were low, thats when the doom and gloom set in.

Also maxwell it seems like this thread has legs like NSMB Wii, but as your replying a lot within it I'll count those as "bundled" posts, so in effect the thread doesn't have legs like NSMB Wii yet, but it may get to 100 posts if you bundle it enough!!!

You're also ignoring the point there isn't that big difference between home consoles and portable consoles like people make out, its the same market there, see DQIX being put on DS instead of one of the home consoles, gamers are gamers, the world isn't America where everyone acts like portable gaming is its own thing seperate from gaming at home.

where do you guys think PS3/Wii will end up million sellers wise?

I think PS3 will get FF15, possibly versus 13 & GT5 making it a total of 4

Wii will get DQX, NSMB Wii 2, Wii Relax....3 more tentatively band could increase by much much much more.

Are you trying to say the the market didn't switch to handhelds?

Because it did. However, DS has been out a long time now, and it's moving back to a more balanced level, probably due to counter-current.
