Forums - Sony Discussion - Geoff Keighley: Mass Effect 2 Will Come To PS3, EA Just Can’t Talk About It Yet

As CGI quality has said this sucks for people who own both systems. I'm starting to lose reasons to own both systems. If the 360 loses mass effect to ps3 theres not many games left to justify owning the 360. Just Halo, Left 4 Dead, and Gears of War. These are big great games, but I have a longer list for PS3. Hope it doesn't happen.

I have heard from a few sites with leaked info, that EA is in the process of porting ME1 and the new ME2 and they will both come at the same time, and they may have a double pack price cut for the PS3, It will happen, 2-3 months away.

Right, 360 doesnt need Final Fantasy XIII...

I hope so since ME is awesome and PS3 userbase deserves it.

Life is short... It is all about priorities!

I am a Freerider 4 life, no matter if on a surfboard in the sea, a snowboard or ski in the mountains or the combo with a kite in the plains... Adrenaline's my engine and better than any video game can ever be - Check it out! ^.^b

Why? Now I don't care about getting Mass Effect or not, but if MS want 360 to be different, they should try making their own games for a change. Not (almost) solely rely on 3rd parties. If more 3rd parties abandon the 360, then maybe MS will start do something themselves... I think this is a good thing, it shows who's the weakest of the bunch.

How?

How what exactly?

Why do the 360 and PS3 games have to be diffrent.

You'd rather have the same games on TWO systems?

Are you not being a tad bit contradicting in this? Me along with you and others have been victim of the 'exclusives going multiplat but glad because now a larger audience has a chance to view it and enjoy such a great game' type of deal. So if Mass Effect were to eventually make its way onto the ps3 then would this not be the same case? Although EA of course just wants to make more profit and is not seeing it as that, but ultimately it would be a win win situation both for the Company and for the Gamers.

Nope, I have never been for that 'type of deal'. Sorry.

TBH Mass Effect is already on two platforms, so it's not completly exclusive to anything. Therefore I don't see a single reason, why it would be a loss for anybody, if it come to PS3. Well I'd buy the PC version anyway...

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

Ha! if only you saw the ammount of rumor about MGS4 going to 360 couple of years ago, it was ridiculous like every month a new rumour comes out.

3rd party devs would rather have people spend their money buying software than having to spend their money buying 2 or 3 consoles. It makes sense therefore for people third party devs to release software on as many platforms as can handle a game.

I'm with Keighly and Pachter on this: Third party devs really shouldn't be platform exclusive unless there is a hardware reason (wiimote, balance board, processing power [PC]) for them having to be exclusive. Well that and the programmer capability in the case of the PS3. Oh, and contractual obligations (moneyhatting) of course. EA/Bioware have none of those constraints with ME2.

Still, without ME1 thrown into the bargain would PS3 owners really go for ME2?

Yet it has been commented by several third party developers that Microsoft give a huge amount of support to developers, top that off with a much better (and possibly more profitable for third parties) online model.

I dont see the 360 as the weakest at all - each console has a very good plus point, I love the Wii for Zelda, and some amazing ootb games this gen, the 360 for it's online model and the PS3 for some of the best exlusives.  Wouldn't be without any of my consoles, cant see why people need to label one "stronger" than the other, especially when the 360 is soo affordable these days and the back catalogue is fairly big.

good good good

but you can also buy it on PC ...
