Wait... Isnt Gamestop the worlds biggest game retail chain? I think that alone would answer your question. This way they probably get more shellspace and a couple of other benefits

Yeah. My Wal-Mart DLC was a password that was available everywhere. It unlocked content that I was going to unlock by winning matches. It sucks for people who don't have the money on day one, or who may not know about a launch date.
