Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft needs to do something FAST!!

I really don't think MS is upset about how this gen has played out. The last PlayStation was a dominant system that no other console came close to even scratching. This time around the PS3 is in third place, and if everything goes well it might secure 2nd at best.

I don't understand how people think this is good for Sony and bad for Microsoft. That would be like a new Apple OS taking away most of Microsoft's customers and people trying to spin that even though the latest Windows OS is in last place, it might catch up to the Apple OS by the end of the cycle.

Someone deserves a medal here and his name is PearlJam.

It's kinda ironic some people take second place clinching so seriously when in fact their console was in first place for years without a scratch, and now all of a sudden will throw a party when the PS3 takes second place (which it will most likely due unless Natal and a potential price cut has a huge effect). For MS selling this many units It's more of a surprise then anything else when Sony should have had second place in the bag regardless of price (Brand Recognition, AAA exclusives, Third Party support etc.) when you look at the PS2.

It's just that simple.

i decided to comeback because i felt like it. If you dont like it then you leave.

Another fact: Ps3 exclusives are more attractive than Xbox 360

Ah, so this is one of the ps3 trolls on the 360 board I heard about, you fail hard.

"Another fact" seriously?

Yes i love your facts Keptoknight lol. And i totally agree Ajescent

At this rate I really don't think it matters,

No worries imo. They have a strong year 2010 and with the support in Natal they seem confident that it will help them get better sales. So they're going to go with the same concept throughout the year.. but come december and nothings changed, then i'd think things over. Sony/Microsoft merger? :D

there's already a lot of promotions in europe, but keep cool! remember what happened in 2008, everyone said: "360 is doomed", and in the enf of 2008 360 destroyed ps3 everywhere... perhaps that will the same in 2010.

best post ever.

You really have to see things in a wider context

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Seem to remember sega saying the dreamcast was fine before it got blown away by the ps

"...the best way to prepare [to be a programmer] is to write programs, and to study great programs that other people have written. In my case, I went to the garbage cans at the Computer Science Center and fished out listings of their operating system." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

"Hey, Steve, just because you broke into Xerox's house before I did and took the TV doesn't mean I can't go in later and take the stereo." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

Bill Gates had Mac prototypes to work from, and he was known to be obsessed with trying to make Windows as good as SAND (Steve's Amazing New Device), as a Microsoft exec named it. It was the Mac that Microsoft took for its blueprint on how to make a GUI.

""Windows [n.] - A thirty-two bit extension and GUI shell to a sixteen bit patch to an eight bit operating system originally coded for a four bit microprocessor and sold by a two-bit company that can't stand one bit of competition.""

I think Thursday will be a true sign that MS needs to do something or not.
