Maybe they're waiting for the game to launch so they can play with real people (as opposed to reviewers)?

It is online only, isn't it? Maybe... there is just not enough people playing it yet? I mean, 256 pre-reviewers at the same time...

A lot of games dont get reviews before they release, why is this such a surprise

Not to flame or something but I think most reviewers are going for Mass Effect 2? We don't have a lot of reviews for that game aswell do we? I am not 100% sure but I thought it also took a lot of time before we got some reviews of the Battlefield game on PSN/XBLA.

Someone said, that the servers won't be up until release date, so there you have it. Also decent review is expected to experience the whole package, which means level up so he can get leadership ranks to control the battlefield.

That's silly. You are making it sound that all these review sites out there (IGN, Eurogamer etc.) are amateurish and composed by a single reviewer or such. 

Sometimes games that are only online have their reviews come out later till they put a lot of hours into it.

Mass Effect 2 is a PC/360 game. MAG is PS3 exclusive. Neither should have any effect on the other, in terms of reviews.

Heavy Rain has a review a month before its release. Most of last year's holiday games had metascores a good week before they released. Not every game is going to get pre-release reviews, but this is supposed to be one of Sony's strong games for 2010. It's got its own "It Only Does Everything" ad!

Game that serve exclusively online usually never get review before launch day. Especially MMO.

MAG will get its review a few days after launch.
