I am 99% sure that NJ5 didn't do that on purpose. I know he is very respected here for the contributions he has brougth to this forum. He has a very good reputation according to what nordlead said, for example. But i must warn to the fact that the red topic color will automatically lure most of PS3, PSP owners (or who wishes to be) to read it. And incidentally, most will try to relate whatever informations that are posted here, to their Sony gaming platform of choice. And if the reasons for the post are not made clear everyone will try to interpret why this is here. And if i am not the only one complaining it is because something was really wrong here. I am not saying anything personal against anyone, i am only trying to express what i felt with this kind of topic placed here. Perhaps forum rules should be made more clear or some descriptions could be changed for the greater good.

LOL yeah that would be fun :)

The insane part was the ammount of money they actually used for it, thay spend lots and lots of money on how to evolve phones and figuring out how phones will be used in 5,10,25 and 50 years from now and thay creat theese prototypes to show them off which then never really is used in their phones.

actually all big electronics companies do that though, im pretty sure IBM and Intel both have ideas on where processors and PCs will be in the next 40 years.

I know and they should do this kind of research but the ammount of money they pour into theese projects are not in proportion with the ammount of money they actually make on the phones, this is one of the reasons Ericsson found them selves in trouble and joned forces with Sony a while back and they seem to still be wasting dispropotional ammounts of money into theese projects

SonyEricsson phones are VERY nice phones. Too bad they aren't successful in catering to a mass causal market. That's where the profits and marketshare really come from.

They don't target the "cheap phones" mass market, more the mid and high end, where they're getting eaten by competitors as justinian said.

Average selling price of their phones is more than 100 €.

Nope, they report separately. See for example their 2009 Q2 results:

Sony Ericsson has its own slide (number 17).

What happens is: Sony Ericsson does its own financial report, which always comes before Ericsson and Sony financial reports. The latter two then incorporate the results into their own financial results. Not very different from any division, just a little bit more independent (but financially every bit as dependent as any other division).

lol, if you post Sony Entertainment financials and they have losses, I'm sure we will see lots of posts how the Playstation division isn't part of Sony as well. :)

Otherwise, seems like the mobile market is no longer booming. I mean RIM, Apple are doing will...Anyone else having stellar financial results in mobile?
