I definitely do not see any surprise consoles being released this year and I think ultimately they have November 2012 circled on the calendar.
However if Natal really bombs it could sink the console and I wouldn't be shocked if they have something ready for November 2011.
If Natal really takes off it would be like a console re-launch and could extend the life into late 2013 or even 2014.
I think it would be unrealistic to think that MS doesn't launch a new system in 2012 (7 years)

if you had 1 year ill vote that. here me out. i honestly think this year will show the 360 limitations.

I think Natal will be a failure (doesnt look responsive, throw in the fake commercials of it, videos of it not being responsive, etc.)

Ms isnt full 3-D compatible (i think just like blu-ray people are underestimating 3-D there is a market for it)

Developers might be more blu-ray friendly with the complaints they are getting from ps3 users (meaning more content, uncompressed files, richer audio video formats) as well as the competition sony exclusives companies are delivering i think third party companies will try to out shine them.

I'd say it has a good two more years left in it until its sales are no longer relevent numbers. Might be able to squeeze a little bit out of the third year. It'll largely depend on whether Natal catches on and if Halo Reach is anywhere near the success Halo 3 is. Those are the two major cards remaining for Microsoft. If one or especially both fail, it'll barely last two more years.
