well here we have another table-turn-around in america this week ps3 will dominate over 360 in all regions (america,japan,others) MS should advertise ME2 a lot to counter ps3 sales

This is great. I love watching the HD fanboys do battle on the interwebz. Its a nice change of pace from the Wii has no good games or 3rd parties are leaving the Wii stuff. But MS fans. Dont be upset. MS has done great this gen. Sony went from a, what ~65%+ marketshare and ~130m somthing console sold > ~25% MS and ~30+ m, so far sold. Your new 360 has done way better than the old X-Box hasent it? Not to mention all the Billions Sony is losing this gen. Sony is the big loser this gen. MS has picket up from last gen, even if not too much. And Sony has lost a lot. So let the PS3 fans have some fun here. You cant blame them for looking at anything thats good and being happy, even if it has been a bad gen for them in general. But we will see what next gen brings us. If the 7th gen has tought us anything its that we have no idea whats ganna happen next gen.

So I'm not the only one that noticed this impication.
Nintendo will need something to help momentum in Q1, NSMB has given it a surge, WSR and WF+ are probably helping too, but it seems it'll take even more to reverse the overall trend. |
Actually it would be an incredible achievement if Wii even comes close to its Q1 2009 numbers in the US. It wasn't until February/March that supply finally caught up with demand in the US which caused massive sales for that quarter. As for reversing the overall trend it will be far more important not being down YOY in Q2 when sales were down 50% compared to the first quarter.

well can't argue Sony didn't dig themselves into a hole, but losers they are not. You have to take into account the is the firest sony console to cost twice what it did at launch, and that's was 600 $ if your wondering, and is still the most expensive console, so really the ps3 is in last place due to circumstance, and to me that's no big loser. Because if you think for one second that the ps3 for all that it is now and nothing more wouldn't be mopping the floor with the 360 if at launch if it cost 300$ and was 249$ or worse 199$ is to be delusional, so if Circumstance is the only thing holding the ps3 back then they are not losers, just slow off the start. Sony took big risk and knew it would kick'em in the ass as it's doing but where would we be had they didn't certainly not as far as we are now. what do you want, ps3 or a ps2 hd upgrade?

well, I do believe ME2 will a good effect on hardware sales it is not new IP but it is still very good hardcore experience that is console exclusive ! |
Isn't ME2 also on PC? How many true exclusives has XB360 if we subtract the "console exclusives" lifebuoy thrown at it? And why do we call multiplat games released on one console + PC, but not, for example, also on Mac, "console exclusives" and not "PC exclusives"? Why this bias in favour of consoles?
Since we are talking winners and losers.
Sony has to be thought of the loser this gen. Yes the last 6 months things have gotten better, but there is no way that Sony planned to be losing $ on each PS3 sold after the 4th holiday period. Sony has had to agressively price reduce the PS3 ahead of schedule and that will continue to cost them big $. There are 1-2 more holiday sales periods left before the next generation gets announced and 2-3 holiday sales periods before they launch. PS3 wont be a profitable project. This wasnt Sony's buy into the market this was the followup to the most 2 most successful consoles of all time.
Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.
@kowenicki
he never said sony was the winner. he just said they are not the losers. also, its funny how every time PS3 outsells 360 some guy comes and start talking about profits, even though this is sales thread. its getting kinda old and pathetic now

completely irrelevant to this thread and wrong first of all this 3rd holiday season for sony and ps3 saw profit in 2009 and slim will have profit in 2010 also if you don 't like sales don 't post in this thread post in a Which is more profitable kind of like thread
Japan is up now and it seems very odd to see the 360 lower than the psp. Good Job Nintendo and Sony, this year could be their best sales year if this trend continues into the 2010 Christmas holiday season.
