Way to much de facto.
Anyway, no. I like traditional controllers.
I am not a huge fan of motion controls at all.
wait......has it just been confirmed that these will be boxed with every PS3....think about what he said
I don't want to believe this. If this was true, it could be my very last console T_T.
The Sony Motion Control (SMC) won't be de-facto unless they mean making it a standard part of the basic retail package for new PS3s.
Plus, without some 'nunchuk' style piece, it couldn't work with a great number of genres. So unless each PS3 comes with 1 DS3 and 1 SMC AND every game built after that has the default configuration using the SMC (DS3 only as an option) it will not hit a very significant part of the userbase.
Also, the standalone SMC will need to be available for cheap separately for the existing users.
noooooooooo. I hope it's popular, but not quite popular enough to be the "de facto" controller.
I get the feeling CVG aren't telling the whole story. According to Eurogamer:
If they do replace the Dualshock, I hope they're clever enough to go with one of those designs where it was like a dualshock that you could cut up in two whenever necessary.

{phew}
but does "along with" mean the dualshock pad in one hand & the arc in the other? (like the proposed control scheme at TGS that looked like the worst thing ever)
or are they two seperate entities?
Oh god I hope not. Whatever console uses their "motion" controllers the least will be my main console.
