Strong opening for Darkside Chronicles. Must be about 60-70K.

That looks strong until you consider that RE:UC had a 100k opening.

Time to back off those lightgun games, third parties.

no Ps3 game, not even FF13, i remember back in time people making FF13 so huge that it would stop the Wii in Japan...

every time something huge is about to enter Wii territory Nintendo releases something even more huge....

great for Darkside Chronicles

even though there is no PS3 game in the top ten, the PS3 may actually beat the Wii this week in Japan. The numbers were quite close last week.

20% difference != "quite close"

Less than 10% actually and the Wii is dropping at a faster rate than the PS3

20% according to Vgchartz: http://www.vgchartz.com/jweekly.php

10% according to Famitsu

Wii fell faster because it was so much higher to begin with. PS3 is falling fast too.

But but we are on the Famitsu thread.

Pretty good hold for NSMBWii

NSMBwii was actually up 5000 units according to famitsu over last week. That's excellent.

On the Vgchartz website.

Whatever the true figure, 10-20% is a comfortable margin. Wii won't fall below PS3 this week.

Problem there is the Wii is selling by far more games in Japan of late than PS3. FFXIII is really the only game currently keeping the PS3 "afloat" in Japan right now. Sooner or later something has to give. A console that is selling very little software cannot keep pace with a console that consistanty sells tons of software, especially when a giant like NSMB Wii is now unleashed. You could argue that the Blu ray player is a major selling point that will keep the PS3 going, but it's only a secondary feature, which cannot keep it going on its own.

We'll have to see what happens over the next few months as the software scale is starting to lean back towards PS3 in quality releases, but that doesn't necessarilly mean they will all sell well.

I would hardly call 6k a comfortable margin.

I'd say RE: DSC is at about 72k-85k, which is actually good. Should manage 110k+ eventually. The game will pass 400k WW by Week 10.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

Woah, DarkSide Chronicles did way better than I expected. No where I'd have ever dreamed it'd be anywhere even close to UC, and now it's looking like it might've even matched it.

I honestly expected like 40-50k this week...

Isn't NSMB Wii up compared to last week according to the initial software numbers? I would expect the Wii to either stay flat or Raise slightly due to that and RE: DC. ALso 200th post!!! I didn't get to celebrate 100 because it jsut flew by me.
