Anyway, when you buy a console, it's usually not to play RTS. They're far and between, and most of times not up to par to their PC versions if they're ports

I found Brutal legend to be the perfect console RTS, over coming the lack of a mouse or keyboard.

Unfortunately the servers are gimped, and 99% of people on it suck hard. So er, even though it's core gameplay is a good RTS it's probably not worth bothering with.

RTS games on consoles are best if they are developed for the console. Two of the few exceptions to this rule (which I just invented) seem to be Tom Clancy's Endwar and the two Overlord games, which got decent ratings.

There are some good to great RTS games on PSN (I haven't played them, but ratings are good; I think they are all tower defense games except Mushroom Wars? Not sure):

First you say the Civilization series is not an RTS, which is absolutely correct and then you say Overlord is an RTS ?

PC = K & M ( MMORPG, RTS, FPS)

Home consoles = Controller with light gun and floor mat etc ( Everything else )

I know each side would like to have a bit more of each others market but the fundamental is that if you want to play a particular genre then one excel more than the other.

There soft version of RTS on home systems but let's not fool our selves, you want to play an RTS then just stick to PC, you want a water down version... well you're looking in the right place (home system).

You're favorite genre and you want them to port them over? I don't understand, if it is your favorite type of games why wouldn't you be a PC gamer primarily then occassional console player?

It's like saying FPS is my fav but I have a home console and would love those PC FPS to be ported over. Why don't I just get a gaming rig to play FPS on PC?

I can tell you that the PC market has more than enough RTS to keep you happy if it is your favorite genre.

I wish Creative Assembly will port Empire to the PS3 =/

And we don't need the fucking wand, "Gem", "Arc", or whatever. Just a USB KB and Mouse.

If you're accustomed to playing RTS games on the PC, playing them on the PS3 will feel like playing an educational game for special needs kids in comparison.
Console RTS' = no no (imo).

Wish it was that way for PS3. =/
