Well if you don't want to see Jupiter, Mars, Pluto etc as separate deities, then perhaps Kratos (or any surviving Gods or Titans) can get all prissy at the Romans letting other gods into the Pantheon and according them near equal status. Cybele and Mithras would make ideal gods to have to fight off as outsiders trying to usurp the rightful positions of the Titans/Olympians. The Norse mythology it wicked too, as is the Egyptian one. |
So after Kratos wipes out Olympus and kills everything, he'll turn his attention to minor Roman deities. Okay.
It's for this precise reason that I think Kratos' story arc ends with God of War III, at least if the promise of Chaos is carried out.
Norse mythology might work, if they do it right. But Egyptian mythology is just far too different. Did the Egyptians have a God of War? Horus was God of War...and hunting.
EDIT: Come to think of it, all the Norse gods were gods of war!
So that would be very interesting indeed.
