After about a 2 year hiatus, I recently reinstalled Battlefield 2. Upon starting to play the game again, I was trying to find some good servers to play. It seems like the servers now just have a plethera of stupid rules, worse than almost any other online game I have ever seen. 'No attacking uncapped flags, no basecamping, no C4 jumping, no jumpseating, no stealing heli/planes, no command destruc until teams over 20....' Doing any of these things or if a mod/admin THINKS you have done any of these things, its an instant kicked from server. And mind you, this is the game where most people are just spamming artillery or using jets 24/7. Yet now they won't let you attack the neutral base where those jets are found or in some instances even attack the people in the air. And there doesn't seem to be any rules against jets and tanks 'basecamping'.
Worst of all, now there's entire servers that kick you for taking flags! With no warning, you enter a server and start playing like normal, and as soon as you take a flag, bam, you're kicked. Seriously....do these people not want to even play the game anymore? It'd be like kicking someone for shooting people in Counter-Strike.
This is why I often times get annoyed with online games. After a certain amount of time, 'rules' get made up that makes it into a whole new game that is unplayable.
