The 360 version is strongly covered in a Neon Green overall color with Edge shadowed out on the front... almost as if hes ashamed...

While the PS3 version is more bright and welcoming, yet at the same time darker both in backround and the titles Neon Pink letters...

Did tri-ace do this on purpose to reach out to 360 owners with the 360's nice Neon green color scheme?

And are they doing the same with the PS3's more darker yet brighter sleeker design?

i never figured Tri-ace to be the Game case dependent type but meh...

no one else noticed this subtle thing?

i like both covers

If by "more bright and welcoming" you mean "more generic, childish and anime".

For a second I didn't understand the point of your post, but if you're asking whether or not publishers look at their target demographics and use focus groups to determine what kinds of images are most appealing, then yes.

I prefer the 360 case to be honest, I mean, sure the pink isn't bad or anything but I despise anime/manga artwork, especially when it's shown on covers like that, when the background looks great, and these two very flat pictures are stuck infront, looks like a photoshop job, lol.

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

Well a fair few RPGs were 360 exclusive at the beginning of the gen, i heard this was to help boost the popularity of JRPGs in NA. the 360 box looks a lot more sci-fi and the the PS3 one looks like anime (still cool), they probabily used that top design to improve the marketability of the game in NA, without stigmatising the game as an anime/manga thing. and the PS3 one - they probabily just wanted it to appear as it was mean to imo.

I didn't know it was supposed to be subtle...
