Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Just Dance is Ubi's fastest-selling Wii title. Sequels planned

Oh how I wish Red Steel 2 would just shatter that record. Oh, how I wish.....

Fools. When will they learn? They should have made the Just Dance even better with WM+ and had DLC for more songs and sold it full price for the whole generation.

It's all the rage now because it's innovative and fun. A sequel will just split sales with the original and if they drop the price of the original everyone will still buy that instead because it's cheaper and they won't really see the difference (see Boom Blox or Tiger Woods were older inferior versions outsell newer superior versions). Of course if LD2 is like Shaun White 2 (only minor differences), they'd be totally right to avoid it.

IF UBISOFT MARKETS THE DAMN GAME.

lol, why do third party need to make core games for the wii again?

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Most Wii gamers are one-and-doners. In other words, they want only a good game in a certain genre and they are completely satisfied. Nintendo understands that there are gamers like this, so it rarely releases same-generation sequels of main line games (Mario Party has been the biggest exception -- prior to the Wii).

Not only does Ubisoft not realize that lightning does not strike twice, it is missing the fact that the music games in general (dance, guitar, karaoke, etc.) are performing at lower levels than they had previously.

It makes you wonder about the intelligence (or lack thereof) of corporate executives.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

where ubisoft went wrong was not make just dance be able to to have downloaded content for new songs. this game is fun and can really bring the inner you out. but what really gets me is that sometimes the wii-mote does not register the moves your making correctly and you get a lower score because of that.

ubisoft claims that the game can pick up on all your moves but in reality its only picking up on the position to wear the wii mote is going. i like this game though. i bought it for $30 a few weeks ago at best buy because i couldn't resist how much people on youtube were having fun with it.

i personally think if they make a sequel this one should have some way of wii owners being able to download music selections off a store of some sort and that's when this game will really shine rather than bringing out volumes upon volumes of just dance.

do i hear a cow?

No one is saying that third parties need to make core games. What we are saying, is that if you're gonna make it.....market it. It's just that simple.

There were ads ALL OVER the place for Just Dance. Here on VGChartz, GameTrailers,  on YouTube, Yahoo, MTV, Cartoon Network, VH1, etc etc. The result? Fastest selling Wii title ever for Ubi Soft.

a sequel would be cheap and would probably sell ok. It's up to ubisoft if they want to ruin just dance by releasing the sequel right away. If they release a sequel it will sell far less than the first one and the if they really want to make it a franchise they wouldn't release it because it would destroy the franchise not build it up. They could probably make a pretty good profit even if the sales went way down but they better not complain when it sells like crap and the franchise is ruined.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Unfortunately this seems to be a justification of Ubisofts 'Throw as much **** at the wall and hope something sticks" strategy on the Wii.

For all the shovalware they made, they've got a hit out of it, and chances are that's exactly what everyone else will keep doing for the foreseeable future >_>.
