Forums - Nintendo Discussion - 2 more third party wii games fail with sales?

I'll admit that FF is kinda surprising for me. I didn't get it because I don't really like FF games anymore but I thought everyone else did?!

Silent Hill, while its an amazing game, like someone else pointed out the HD version did poorly as well. I just don't think the mainstream gamers like survival horror games anymore. So I am not too surprised that one is doing poorly. Also as another person mentioned, since Wii games generally have long legs they are not favored by retail outlets. Retail stores need every inch of shelf space they can get and don't like games that sit around on the shelf for awhile even if they sell over time. That's why there are no copies of any of the good games on the Wii in stores. Unfortunately most gamers still buy their games in stores and advertising is low as usual for gamers who do happen to go online for game purchases.

Current Favorites:
Wii - Muramasa, MH3, Metroid Trilogy, RS2, Okami, RE4, COD, Dead Space, Scarface
PC - L4D, TF2, BFBC2, Killing Floor, Aquaria, Warsow, many UDK indie games
Mods - MechWarrior:Living Legends, Star Wars: Galatic Warfare, PVKII, Goldeneye Source, L4D mods
PS3 - Demon Souls, Way of the Samurai 3
Social Modding Club: ModDb | Steam

Final Fantasy is still big, but The Crystal Bearers is not a Final Fantasy game; it's based on the spin-off series FF Crystal Chronicles, and even there, TCB is nothing like the other FFCC games.  It's a spin-off of a spin-off; how postmodern are we getting here?

Veder Juda is hand crafted from EPIC FAIL, and is a 96% certified Looney; the other 4% is a work in progress.

some games really deserve to fail, others not

in most cases, developers deserve the bad sales, where the game are good nothing is done to promote it and they expect sales to come from the sky

i agree that FFCB is not as great as expected but i think it still deserves something more than what it sells, let's wait and see

Silent Hill was never a huge franchise, i dont' think the developers expected something huge

most Wii developers underestimate their own games and Wii on its own, i mean, they don't advertise Wii games as they do with Ps3/Xbox360 games

also, most of the times the wrong games are promoted, i mean TMNT, cheap SSBB rip-off sucks

the best 3rd party game on Wii ever is Little King's Story, and i wish Nintendo could publish it/promote it, Rising Star is a small but powerful developing team, i wish Nintendo could help with marketing, cause they give so much to Wii compared to other developers

Wii has many hardcore gamers, just from the fact that most shooters, Metroid, Zelda, RE, House of the Dead and MadWorld sell good shows that the audience is there

i just hope piracy does not affect Wii as much as the PSP, this is where Sony succeeded with Ps3

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

This just hit me in that even with Wii owners hacking and pirating as many games as they do. It still sells Heaps more software than PS3. In fact of all three consoles PS3 sells the least amount of software even though it is the best at keeping piracy in check. Go figure.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

Yep, two more sales failures.  Didn't expect Wet or Brutal Legends to sale anyway...

can't wait for those 2 games to hit $19.99

Y'know, Brutal Legend may not be as much of a bomb as you think. EA only expected 400k in the US after one year, and it has like 550k on the PS360 so far, yet they haven't reached 1 million combined.

As for Wet.......that's Bethseda's second stinker after Wheelspin.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

I don't understand how these 2 games can be considered flops when they are clearly niché titles. Sales don't lie and when compared to other games on the console, the auspicious release dates and low to moderate marketing these figures are actually an improvement over past efforts.

Huge, maybe not but it was very big during the PS2 days when SH2 was released (I believe someone may have posted this already):

If it wasn't previously a successful series don't you think they would have stopped bringing them out by now?
