Forums - Gaming Discussion - Final fantasy XIII should've remained exclusive

This is getting old...

Square Enix makes the decisions, if you're unhappy about their games then go to their office and yell at them.
I don't fall for the "360 is to blame for loss of content" either. Even if FFXIII had stayed exclusive there would've been cuts anyway. Nothing says it's because of the 360.

if it was "really exclusive" it would have sold a ton of ps3 consoles like it did in japan. but then MS stepped in and _____ __.

And the PS3 flopped, the PS3 stopped selling and its struggling to get 5k sales per month...

Yep god damn you MS!!!!!

And have people forgotten that Mario Kart still sold 9.8million on the GC/N64 regardless of it being on ONE system and the LEAST SELLING one to boot? I use GC and N64 as examples of this instead of the PS1 and PS2's games that sold a lot because Nintendo was in the losing place. It just shows that games that are exclusive can still sell bucket loads regardless of how many more consoles the competition has over the other. :/

It sold 9.8 million on the N64, and ~7mil on the GC.

On the Wii, it has sold ~21 million, and counting. If anything, it shows that userbase does matter.

Another example more similar to FF: DQIX. The series has broken records thanks to releasing on the DS in Japan.

I don't know why you push this "userbase means nothing" argument. I know a few people that only own X360's who are getting this game, and they wouldn't have done so if it were a PS3 exclusive. That's just how it is, there's no magic involved.

Ok then why is this trend not translating into the same thing when it comes to Exclusives going MP? No used to be exclusive has made that leap in sales from jumping. And The Wii is still no where close to where the PS2 was (120million) and it has pulled off game breaking numbers with its titles when the PS2 rarely did. Its obviously more of a corrolation between the fanbase changing rather then it simply being more available cuz more systems have been purchased.

dude what are you so mad about?!?

Im not mad. I just do not see any proof that points to Multiplat doing any better than Exclusive entries in a series's past. They do virtually the same. THere are other elements to factor, such as quality, timing, etc but still they have proven time and time again not to change anything.

And I am a firm believer that Exclusives are just better than Multiplatform games. This goes for any system. Mass Effect, WAY better than Dragon Age with its super watered down visuals cuz its on all HD systems. DMC3, leaps and bounds better than DMC4 which greatly dissappointed me(not terrible but not what it could have been). Halo3, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, Mario Anything, Zelda, the list goes on and on. EXCLUSIVES ARE BETTER THAN MULTIPLATS.

And when SE made FFXIII multiplat they killed the quality and caliber of their own series. There was a reason FFXIII has to be the most secretive FF game in the series. With So many closed showings and months with no word on anything. Its because the game was crumbling in development. When FFXIII comes out and it becomes the new dissappointment as was GTAIV when it made the jump(and lost a lot of the quality seen in previous titles) AND when Versus shows up XIII in every way, this fact will be undeniable.

Has nothing to do with the 360

When people make games, movies and music albums... content gets cut.

That is the nature of it.

This is a fanboy article of no merit.

Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"

Yes It should of stayed a PS3 exclusive, It would of been a much better game, its sad.

You mean 360, right?
