Megaman 1 only had 6.

Oh so you're counting levels too? Is Splosion Man your game of the year?

I just made a game in Java where every level all you have to do is press A once. However since it's 101 levels its better than Splosion Man making 'Press A' the new GotY.
So what, I can say that pepole are blind with Halo, CoD, GT, FF, DQ, and pretty much every giant franchise around.
Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.
I agree, although I wouldn't go with S'plosion Man. I'd pick Ratchet and Clank: ACiT.
Odd. Future. Wolf. Gang. Kill. Em. All. OFWGKTA Don't give a fuck!
Fuck Steve Harvey. FREE EARL!
Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the GREATEST game EVER made!!!
I'd take a bullet for Square-Enix!
So the conclution is that Nintendo knows what they are doing and they know what most people want.
Is kinda funny really the "hardcorez" says that Nintendo is lazy and only do the same type of games with minor changes... well then how about all these hundreds of different First Person Shooters out there?? they are all the same but with minor differences... I don't see the "hardcorez" complain about that.
If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing (mostly)
And shepherds we shall be,
For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints
I agree with Tor that you can't base a score on "fun."
You can on "gameplay" though, and Splosion Man's is good, but very 1-dimensional and repetitive. Level design isn't nearly as imaginative, nor is level variety. Here's my point:
I could make you a 300 level platformer. All you would do is jump up stairstep blocks for 30 seconds each level. It would be incredibly original, because no one has ever made a platformer like that before. I'll let you play online with 4 friends, even if it has no effect on the gameplay. I'll even give it to you for free.
By IGN's definition I just made the best platformer of all time.

As I'm seeing it, Capcom did the same move that Nintendo did (according to this man), that is, using nostalgia as a medium to get attention, and strap it to a really solid game, which uses graphics just in the right level. And yet he still had MM9 as one of his top 2008 games... |
Because that's Capcom and not Nintendo. When they announced MM9 and everyone was raving over it, I wondered what would happen if Nintendo did something like that. Now I have my answer.

If it was the same game with different characters then IGN would complain and say that Nintendo is lay and could have made a Mario game just like this but didn't. |
haha yeah probably.
