Why should we be forced to buy another console for games that should also be on the Wii?

3rd parties can adapt or die. Sadly, for the most part they seem to be choosing the latter. :/

Nintendo get tonnes of support, but it's mostly shovelware. And I'm not talking about the software that core gamers call shovelware but aren't (Carnival Games, Deca Sports, etc.) but the tonnes of games that publishers churn out hoping that customers will be tricked into thinking it's a better game resembling it. The bulk of third party sales on Wii are from the exceptions, the games that don't treat their customers like idiots.

Unfortunately those games are limited in scope, publishers don't believe they can have a hit Wii game outside of certain genres, so they don't put money behind them outside of the occassional low budget, "experimental" games like Dead Space Extraction. These are often left to die. Smaller publishers do support Wii with core games, but they're often either just bad, or very narrow in appeal.

Considering how many core games have proven to sell on Wii, and I will list Nintendo games as there's nothing magical about Nintendo, (Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros, NSMB, Metroid Prime, The Legend of Zelda, Star Wars:TFU, Resident Evil, even weak Call of Duty ports), there is no excuse for not supporting the Wii with strong core efforts. "We can't compete with Nintendo first party" translates to "we're not able to make great games". "Wii doesn't sell core games" is plainly false.

Trestres seems CONVINCED wii won't get 3rd support from here on out, but he still wants it

the only advice for him is to get a PS3 or 360 so he will be happy with that support he sees them getting

Virtually every single innovation in controlling games in the last 30 years has come about thanks to Nintendo.  Not only is their software so far above everyone else in the industry, but just a small glance backwards show they're also the only ones innovating on the hardware front.

Can you imagine this generation without Nintendo in the hardware business? Piles and piles of dead publishers everywhere (more than we already have), and all of them unable to compete with Nintendo (who they couldn't run away from like they do now). All of them forced to make really expensive HD games thanks to the technological bullying of Sony and Microsoft.

Not only that, but you'd also have consoles, with what they're currently selling at minus Nintendo, considered all but dead.

With Nintendo dead, who would Sony steal ideas from? Microsoft? HAHAHA!!

True, I just wanted to highlight that it doesn't need to be about getting games equal to PS3/360 ones... just something with the same level of effort (in terms of game design, as the Wii doesn't need as much effort on the graphical side).
