Honestly, if NSMB2 can manage 500 points (4 days to release so 3 days of points, meaning 61 points a day, bit hopeful), I'm gonna say it's on par with NSMBDS. I mean, 3DS has fantastic points-to-sales ratios, so that sort of evens the ground for the launch. Also, first day is gonna add so much to the total anyway that a measly 200 points won't matter at launch. I mean, I bet the difference between NSMBDS and NSMBWii wasn't nearly as much as the huge points difference implied so NSMB2 can still match it with fewer points. Plus, since Nintendo's gonna show us the online sales, we'll get to count those too, meaning that there's probably a lot more demand that we can't see in preorders that we'll see at launch.

Well One piece managed to get 751 pts. and a 664k opening.  The last resident evil opened to 323k in japan. I do not think it can surpass it but  I think a 500k opening is possible.


Resident Evil 6 73 days left = 220 points
One Piece  46 days left = 114 points
One Piece 30 days left = 170 points

Seems like RE 6 can surpass One Piece, but we never know.

Btw, Resident Evil 5 released in march 2009, so the userbase was a lot smaller than today(or compared to march 2012, when One Piece was released)

I don't think Sony sold 2 million PS3 in Japan between March 2012 and now.

Not sure how XIIII-2 will sell another 150K in Japan. It's not gonna hit 1 million.



MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
