I forgot this place exists. Still one of the most thorough and well put together threads I've encountered here. Keep it up Smeags

Thank you CGI! Yep, two (including this week's sales) weeks to go, and then 2011 is up!

PS3 and Wii have done a fantastic job, and 360 is no slouch either. It's been a good year for the big three methinks. ^_^

I'm sure it's a lot of work but will you give a final tally and top 10 per plat after the 3rd then Smeags?  Sounds like 360 is the also ran but the totals must all be pretty impressive.

@Recon

I'll see what I can do! Look for something a bit more in depth after data for the week ending Jan 1.

That's a lot of work Smeags thanks for the insights.  Some surprising titles on each list.  Dead Space and Mirror's Edge on the 360 not to mention Kinect SW.  Well surprising to me anyway.  A solid year for the home consoles especially Wii.  If you can't find something you like these days maybe it's time to get some fresh air.  Think I'll take my advice while I wait for DS2, TW2, DA2 etc..

Edit: Just noticed ME2 didn't even make the top ten at 2.2m.  Guess that's not all bad news.

Well, what I'm most surprised by is the boom of PS3 million sellers. Seems that this holiday boost pushed a lot of older PS3 games that I really didn't see coming. So props to the PS3 for that.

This generation is very different when it comes to the million sellers. I think PS2's record of 225 million sellers will be safe, because Wii's million sellers are more concentrated. The console already has more 20 million and 10 million sellers, which is pretty insane. I mean, you can see it in each console's top ten. Wii's top ten is loaded with big selling titles, with 360 following and then PS3 following that. DS is starting to show its age (still a decent top ten though), and the PSP... is the PSP.

So yeah, each of the three home consoles are doing very well this year. I really don't think any fanbase can complain too much.

Oh, 1 more week and Kirby EY would've made  the list.

I'm counting the week ending January 1st (aka this week) for 2010, so Kirby's Epic Yarn can still make it.

Either way, ending the old year or beginning the new year, I'm happy to see the game get to the million mark. ^_^

NG 2 (360)

@Bagaren

Unfortunately, Ninja Gaiden 2 is at 989,000. VGChartz rounds up on the counter, so it's not quite there yet. Hopefully it can reach it for the 2011 edition!

Oh I just saw the final sales! I've been trying to watch this myself since I saw your first post on the matter, so im happy the Wii was able to catch up. What do you think about Tiger Woods? Do you think it was even tracked these last few weeks? Ofcourse if you go that route im sure other systems have the same issue. Thanks Smeags for making the holiday's...funner.

Thanks for that compliment spurgeonryan! It means a lot that this thread made this site a little bit better, even if it is for one person. That's why I do it. ^_^

As for Tiger, I found it surprising that EMEAA got a biggers holiday boost than NA. Still, legs should help it reach a million. I'm thinking of February/March myself.

And I also can't believe that Wii actually tied the PS3 this year. I thought for sure that Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City and FIFA World Cup (both PS3 titles) would hit a million this week. But they're both at 998,000. So PS3 should have a great start with the 2011 Edition.

Yep, plenty of titles are gonna hit a million this year, so it'll be really fun to see. But what I'm excited about is seeing how 3DS software does this year. ^_^
