Forums - Microsoft - Who's still getting FInal Fantasy XIII on Xbox 360?

Decided not to buy it since it includes just one of half a dozen features I actually look for in an FF game. That one being a character-driven storyline...

It's missing exploration, a robust and interactive world (lol no towns), strategic and varied combat in which I can control multiple unique characters, and of course a good soundtrack.

Of course, I'm sure some people are more interested in it because it's missing these features and is instead more cinematic and linear, like an action game. Just not things I look for at all in this type of game. If I want an action game I'll play an action game. I wonder how different, really, the game design in this is from Bayonetta, aside from Bayonetta's vastly superior combat system that is.

I'll be getting it for PS3, due to console and controller preference.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

After the dreadful experience of having to disc swap Star Ocean 4 over 300 times (literally--because of item creation ingredients and traveling to get them), I will definitely be getting the ps3 version.

Plus, I don't have many Trophies so this will give me a chance to get some for my ps3.

The vast majority of multi-disc jrpgs don`t require disc swapping for backtracking. They put all the areas you can backtrack to on the last disc in Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Infinite Undiscovery, all the PS1 FFs (unless the last disc was the point of no return. I can`t remember now), DQ7 (and most other PS1 jrpgs if I remember correctly) etc. So in LO, FF8 and FF9 you only swapped a grand total of 3 times, Blue Dragon and FF7 two swaps, and in Infinite Undiscovery and DQ7 just one swap.

If Square-Enix puts all the areas you can backtrack to on Disc 3 as is the norm, you will only have to swap twice during your entire 50+ hour experience. Star Ocean 4 is the exception to the rule when it comes to multi-disc jrpgs. Tri-Ace were being lazy bastards with how they handled the multi-disc situation in SO4. When Lost Odyssey, a four disc jrpg with like freakin 6 language audio tracks (or however much it was) and loads of FMV never requires you to swap discs to backtrack, Tri-Ace doesn`t have a bloody excuse. Just 3 discs of content and only one language audio track.

Why is it that everyone makes a big deal about multi-discs when situations like Star Ocean 4 (poor handling of the multi-disc issue) are an exception to the rule?

I'm fucking lazy, I'd much prefer popping in the disc once or double click on a game on steam and up I go. I don't spent 9 hours out of the house(8 hours work, half hour lunch, half hour driving to and back) so I can come home and disc swap these days, I just pop in one blu ray or buy terabytes of HDD space, DVD is just not enough these days.

I'd love to have all my games installed on my consoles like they are on Steam. I loathed the fact that Bioware sent me a Dragon Age review copy instead of a Steam code. Damn using disc drives lol.

Getting it for the 360, but for my brother I don't care for FF...

And whats with the sensitive people? You should buy the game that's on MY console blah blah, respect peoples decisions damn haha....

What are you talking about? Hard drive installs on X360 games is optional. Thats a PS3 thing.

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

You don't have a PS3 so it's no surprise you're getting the 360 version. I have both, so it's no surprise I'm getting the PS3 version.
I have both, and i already pre-ordered the 360 version. Why? Well, my PS3 is only for exclusives. But yes, i can understand you getting the PS3 version, since for a long time the main series was exclusive to Sony consoles.

No offense but your post is so dumb, why wasted money on the PS3 if you are going to play it only for exclusive games? You should have not wasted your money on the PS3.

That exclusive business model is old and it wastes possible revenue, so why would someone use it?

Not called for dude! Just because you don`t agree with him doesn`t make it stupid of him for doing that. He wants to experience every game possible. Unlike you I am in the same boat as him. I have all 3 systems my X360 is my main platform while PS3/Wii are for exclusive titles that I want. Watch your tongue next time buddy.

As an owner of a PS3 and a future owner of the 360 (this year), I'll be getting it for the PS3.

If you own both, there is no sense in getting the 360 version. One disc is better than three, and if you pack the hardware, the audio and FMV's on the PS3 are noticeably better.

yes there is.... read back.

I own both and I will get the 360 version, as others have said, due to achievements, favoured controller, live cross game chat.

Why is this so difficult to accept?

Dude, it's an RPG. What does a controller matter here?

Plus, achievements are not a good reason to prefer one version to another - unless you're racing to get a high gamerscore or chart in the top 100's or top 10's.

That is why I don't consider either reason. Also... Cross game chat? Would you really wanna be disturbed in the middle of an RPG?

Controller preferance means a lot to many of us. No matter what type of game it is.

I enjoy achievements while I could care less for trophies. Don`t know why but earning trophies doesn`t feel rewarding to me while achievements do.

You don`t have a X360 therefore you do not understand the fun of cross game chat on LIVE.

Dude it's just TWO swaps out of an entire 50+ hours. TWO. Haven't you played FF7 on PS1 before? It's like that. No biggie.
