Um. Screw Leno. I saw Jimmy Kimmel make fun of him for a whole show and I got a kick out of it. XD Leno tried a show and failed miserably. I don't see why they should mess with Conan for Leno failing. Odds are, he won't do any better since a lot of people are mad over what happened.

The Jay leno Show isn't a failure, its meeting what NBC expected from it, but the NBC affiliates weren't happy with the smaller lead in and the 10 pm dramas that were all moved saw ratings drop as well. I kinda feel bad for Leno alot of people are getting mad at him because NBC screwed up

I can't believe Kimmel just told Leno, on the air, "Conan and I have children, all you have is cars, you have like 800 million dollars, leave our shows alone!"

Kimmel rules.

I remember Kimmel from his old days on KROQ in LA. Hilarious guy and watching him lay into Leno was priceless.

With that said, I'd love to see Conan take this opportunity to move to cable and really spread his comedic wings.

^^Leno is doing the Tonight Show again and Conan is out. This is the last I heard.

I hope that doesn't happen.

Conan is the superior comedian and deserves it far more. If they do this, it'll be the 2nd worst TV blunder in the past 10 years...#1 being the cancellation of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Both cause by a lack of ratings, why don't people watch good tv

One of the top five sitcoms of all time, Arrested Development, couldn't even make it through three complete seasons.

That tells you all you need to know about how much peoples' taste in television sucks.

Ratings on the Jay Leno show were really low from what I have always heard. I don't really hate Leno, although watching someone parody somebody else always amuses me. I am not a big fan of Leno but the whole situation kind of pisses me off. Of course from the Media, it seems like Leno is pushing for the change just as much as NBC are pushing it.

Leno usually averages 5 million + from The Tonight Show and when he switched to primetime, he got somewhere around 6, maybe 6.5 million people, which is what everyone expected. NBC projected 300 million dollars a year profit from The Jay Leno Show. It was the affliates who got Leno's shows canceled. Conan O'Brien on the other hand, is getting 2.5 million to maybe 3 million viewers when he took over The Tonight Show. If you were NBC, who would you go with? Leno or O'Brien?

Well they are low compared to Law & Order and other Dramas like SOuthland, but its still making them more money becasue its cheap to produce. NBC is just facing backlash from local news stations. I really like both so I hope Conan works something out with another station

Erm. From what I initially read, it made it seem like it was NBC's fault. But at the same time, I've heard there were very lackluster ratings for the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien....So I guess I can understand the situation. I think this would have all been resolved if they just got rid of Fallon. -.-

It is NBC's fault. They should have seen this problem coming from a mile away and completely mishandled the situation but right now, everyone (Leno, NBC, O'Brien) should be working to resolve the problem. Getting rid of Fallon won't solve anything unless you're expecting Conan to come back to The Late Show and considering the fact that he can't even compromise by moving the Tonight Show back half an hour...Just to be clear, it's Conan who is threating to leave. NBC is not taking show from him (well until he said he was leaving). I'm just sick of everyone placing the blame on Jay Leno, especially Kimmel for placing his nose where it doesn't belong. Fine, O'Brien got the shaft, but so did Leno in 2004 when NBC pretty much said they were going to fire him from the Tonight Show after his contract expired.

Well the problem is... the Jay Leno show... sucked.  It didn't bring over viewers and Jay Leno finished in last place every week.

What total war is saying is a cherrypicked way to make Leno look good.

The reason Conan did so bad was because Leno was such a lackluster lead in, unlike Leno who had a lot of quality lead ins.

This is also why Leno got canned.  He cost the affiliates money because his show was so shitty a lead in that it cost NBC tons of News viewership.  News Viewership being the most profitable hour for local affiliates since they are given the most "local advertising" in primetime.

Kasz, how do you expect a talk show that's on for 5 nights a week to score on average 10 million viewers a night? Leno ain't Oprah and everyone, including NBC expected the ratings he got. They planned around it so that the show would be profitable.

And by what you're saying, you expect viewers to watch through the news and carry on to O'Brien's show? And that O'Brien isn't attracting viewers on his own? This is the blame Leno approach everyone seems to be taking. The fact remains that Leno is more popular than O'Brien and attracts a wider audience. NBC knows that which is why they don't want Leno on another network.
