The last few NPD threads didn't make a profit for The Source

THIS one WILL make profit!

10 MIN PEOPLE!

Yep, it's december so expect big profits of imaginery money.

What's the break even post count? Seems costs are going up all the time so break even point is getting higher and higher. Pretty soon people won't be able to afford to make AAA threads and they'll have to go back to the niche threads that only take 25 or 30 posts to make a profit. Game forums are D00mez.

GAF is down

This is arguably the biggest NPD since GTAIV for them, despite Nintendo giving away their Wii figures early.

Plenty of gaffer's bet that the ps3 would top the 360 last month in November NPD because Sony came out bragging about their numbers, while MS stayed quiet. They were all proven wrong.  Of course, the 360 had MW2 bundles and the gift card deal, so it winning was no real surprise.

This month, however, is pure ps3 vs 360 sales, in the biggest month of the year.  It'll set the stage for what console sells better for the the first part of 2010, and for the non-believers on gaf, they have no idea which one might come out on top.

I'm sure the majority of sales-age gaf are F5'ing like mad right now.

Most of them expect the 360 to win anyway. It's funny how quiet MS has been about these numbers the last couple months.

I may be wrong, but didn't Walmart have another gift card deal for the 360 during FFXIII week? Maybe that was the Wii, but I could swear there was a second deal.

Not even sure it was this one. I could have sworn there was also one on FFXIII week and a Wii one the week before that.

PS3 if I am not mistaken is the only console to not get a Walmart giftcard deal in December.

This gives me hope that what I'm thinking will happen will actually happen.

Basically, I see things like this.  The 360 barely came out on top in November, despite having MW2 bundles and gift card deals at Wal-mart on its side.   In December, it was a ps3 vs 360 grudge match with literally no variables like the aforementioned involved, and in the New Orleans area at least, the ps3 was outpacing the 260 handedly at GameStops just like it was in November (sans MW2 bundles).  Even when the shortages started over the last week before Christmas, the two were at worst neck and neck in my area.

I think NPD will have the ps3 over 360.
