Next year MS will likely have their own 360 Slim to go with the Natal launch.

 

Nintendo owns the U.S, and the 360 is $100 cheaper than the ps3.. but still, don't expect the ps3 to close the gap in the US

wii 3.81M!! I can't believe!! it's crazy, nintendo puts their competitors in the sky!!!  ps3 has done a great job  and it sold more than the 360, last year nobody would have throught that in america!! but the HD twins are very close. we will see in 2010 if the situation is in favor of ps3, I think they will be neck to neck in this area.

Not really.

1.36 vs 1.31 is a statistical tie.

I really wouldn't call it beating it based on how NPD numbers are calculated.

PS3 BEAT 360!! (by around 50K too)

This was a shocker to me, but less so after the SONY internal reports said 1.35 Million were sold

Well i'll put it this way.

Anyone who knows anything about statistics and the kind of thing NPD does wouldn't say the PS3 beat the 360.

It's well within the margin of error.


As for the Wii numbers... seems unbeleivable to me.

seriously are you really getting this deep into me just saying "PS3 beat 360" (which no-one was expecting), in pure numbers that did happen, chill out

It really does.  I'm awestruck by that number.  I mean Wii sold more in December U.S. alone than PS3 did around the world in the entire holiday season in its biggest holidays ever.  I mean that's just amazing even for the market leader.  Then DS continues to have better December despite almost all of them proclaiming to be record breaking.  Then software wise, well I need not say more haha. 

Just kinda in shock about this.  I mean what Wii did in December 2009 in the US alone may be something we talk about for years to come.  But knowing the expanding market, maybe we'll see it broken this year.  Either way it is incredible.
