Great numbers for the Playstation Portable.

i was noticing the huge YoY for wii/ps3 too. is there a good reason for that or is it just because this week is one day closer to the holiday compared to last year. I was expecting a much larger drop for both systems i guess..
Pswii seem to be BACK in terms of YOY, both up by around 50% I believe.
Things are looking VERY good for the console market in Japan
Hand helds still dominate & PSP does very well this week!
All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey
Strong for Wii, largely because it was in such a desperate position last year. Strong for PSP and PS3 too, naturally.
NSMB is very clearly doing something for momentum, we'll see how long that lasts.

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Wish I knew! It looks like they are flying high (when comparing to last year) on momentum (I don't buy the one day difference compared to last year explaining such big differences).
PS3 had a great end of year with the Slim launch, price cut, and FFXIII in December. Wii alos had price cut and of course NSMBW is just selling like crazy.
Now sales will be sad () compared to the holdiays but that doens't mean they won't be interesting as it seems that PS3 and Wii will be close for sometime. PS3 fighting with new games laucnhing regularly and Wii with its infamous "evergreen" titles. Will be good to watch!

Jerry: They're the worst.
YoY growth ended for Wii only a few weeks after the price cut. It's since NSMB that Wii has been strongly up YoY again.
