I just bought Wario Land :D

Considering that places are dumping this title at $15 (or less -- you can get it for $5 at Best Buy), this is not surprising.

Actually, nothing on the list is surprising. Almost all of them are old. And they either have stopped performing or under performed.

You missed Battalion Wars 2 and Metroid Prime Trilogy in the list.

I'm going to have to pick up Metroid Prime Trilogy, New Play Control! Pikmin, and possibly Wario Land: Shake It! as soon as possible. Damn you Nintendo!

Better pick up WarioLand: Shake it! I've been seeing it discounted but didn't realize it was discontinued. I should also pick up that new copy of Strikers Charged I've seen at the video store.

Nothing surprising here though. These titles aren't selling.

NPC Pikmin really underperformed. I doubt we'll see NPC Pikmin 2 in NA now. Worries me that such soft sales (even in JP) might derail Pikmin 3.

Where's NPC Mario Golf? That would be an easy 1m for Nintendo.

this better mean players choice or else this seems like a bad move!! What the hell I've never even heard of donkey Kong Barrel blast before!! I could see them discontinuing Metroid Prime 3 or the Trilogy but not both!

I think they are preparing everything for big releases like Zelda, Mario Galaxy, Other M and maybe some surprises.

Save's Nintendo a little money. It makes sense.

Some (some) of these choices could make sense, for different reasons that have nothing to do with a "players choice" line:

Endless Ocean - the new game is coming out and they don't want this one to undermine the new one's sales. I think they look at it the same way they look at Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus, once Blue World comes out, there is no more a reason for this one's existence since the new one is supposed to be an improvemnet on all fronts.

Excitebots: Trick Racing and Excite Truck - maybe they will reissue this in a 2 for the price of 1 format a la Metroid Trilogy.

Metroid Trilogy - this superb 3 games for the price of 1 package would undermine sales of Other M that is coming out this year

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - I am clueless on this one, I belive it is a mistake. They saw sales for this slump and someone didn't connect the reason to be Trilogy...

New Play Control! Pikmin - maybe they are going to issue a Pikmin NPC 1 + 2 collector's edition (same as Metroid Trilogy) a year or so before Pikmin 3 comes out.

Wii Fit - Wii Fit Plus is a complete replacement, no need for this one to exist

Wii Music - maybe Wii Music 2 is coming out soon, completely rehauling the concept and making this one obsolete?
