what? It plainly says this:
"so let's assume it's four years to be fair [Red Dead Revolver was released in March 2004], that's $40 million (about $10 million a year to run the studio) -- to make that back and just break even you need at least $80 million in sales; 1.75 million units. For profit: $160 million/3.5 million units.""

To make that back and just break even, you need 80$ million in sales;1.75 million units.

5m is to be profitable.

ummm, so it's perfectly find for companies to throw away cash at a knowing loss of money. Then bitch about it? I think we know the truth about developers now. Thank you R*. You seem honest.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

I was thinking the same thing at first, but that 1.75 is guesstimates by Pachter, and the later is an Update when they got contacted by Rockstar themselves. And some guy there claimed they needed 5m to recoup dev.costs.
