Forums - Sales Discussion - American Preorder Charts- 9th January 2010. ME2 leads the way

Poor Heavy Rain.

GoW 3 is HUGE !

I hope Dante's Inferno doesn't sell more than 400k combined. I hope for weak legs. Rip-off should DIE !

Logic would suggest that PS3 pre-orders for multi-platform titles should be about half that of the X360 considering the massive user base of the x360 in the americas...

I am a Gamer... I play games and not consoles. I have a PC and Console on which I game... I like games. End of Story!

I was predicting MAG getting around 500k sales on it's first week and lot of people expected it to flop really badly.

But it's going to do much better. It even might reach a million now depending on the amount of first week buyers.

ME2 will easily break the million limit on the first week.

For a game that's not expected to sell that much, I don't quite get you. If the game was expected to sell 10 million, that's one thing. With the game not really appealing to the masses, it isn't going to have that high of pre-order number.

2M worldwide (life time) and 150k (first week) will make me happy. I know, it's an adventure/point and click game and this genre isn't popular on consoles but the developers are probably putting a loooot of money and effort on this game, so it deserves good sales!

I will have a ps3 just to play this game.

i also think if allen wake is a good game it will sell more then 2 million copies.
Alien vs predators numbers are looking very good. its starting to gain momentum and it could hit 60k preorders for 360.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

Also kantor what is your definition of well?

looking at heavy rain pre-orders it doesn't look like its going to do well...at all

legs are a possiblity

It will be a legs game, not a huge opener, particularly in America. It's setting itself up for a good 120k first week in America, which is far more than most thought it could do.

MAG looking like a 300-400k NA release, not bad. Be close to a million Week 1 with NA+EU

ME2 might crack 450k release

GoWIII Surprises me, could we see a 600k release?

I am rooting for Heavy Rain topping 250k on release but not looking likely

WKC looks like it will have legs rather than front sales

GoW3 could well have 600k preorders. I would be surprised if it released to less than 750k in NA.

Bit too optimistic for me.

I'd be thrilled if GOW opened to 500k in NA. I think it'll get great reviews and I reckon word of mouth will be strong for it.

Look at the pre-orders. 311k already, with at LEAST 8 weeks to go. If it can manage 15k per week for 6 weeks, that brings it to 400k, and then 50k for two weeks before (look at ME2) and 80k for the final week would make it 530k preorders. 600k might be a little high for pre-orders, but the game won't open to less than 700k.

I think a lot of people mistake these pre-order numbers as what's absolute. Many of these games will do better than their pre-orders, remember, there's still the people who just walk in and buy.

As for Alan Wake, many of you will be eating crow when it launches IMO. The game's going to sell better than y'all think.

Yes, I'm the attack dog at the gates of HEAVY RAIN and Alan Wake. We need more games taking risks like these rather than the same ol', same ol'.

My, how I miss the days of Sega vs Nintendo through the 32-Bit Gen (Sony/Nintendo/Sega). Never a dull moment in the innovation department back then.

I defended Heavy Rain as well. Do I get a cookie?

i dont believe halo reach numbers. With all the halo fans out there, theres no way the preorders could be that low. But happy for mass effect 2.
