Forums - Nintendo Discussion - OFFICIAL: NBA JAM is coming for Wii

Wow how stupid can people be? It's obvious that nobody on that show played NBA Jam at all.

The best matchup would obviously be some combination of a) Darth Vader, b) Michael Jackson from Moonwalker (white suit), c) Optimus Prime or d) Fresh Prince....... and e) Bill Clinton/Al Gore/Obama

Dont know why this would only be on wii though. Back in the day it was a big multi-plat. It was on like 4 different systems and in the arcades

I think it's likely we can thank/blame Peter Moore.

Just another example of the industry thinking that the HD console owners will only play big budget/HD games. This industry is a mess.

It's about fun not HD, plus NBA Jam has always been fun for everybody!

And live is now HD only so it's not like wii have many options is it.

Gaming make me feel GOOD!

is this retail or wiiware?

Its not a sport game. Its probably more of a fighter, if anything, and i imagine it will take alot of inspiration from SSBB in terms of finishing moves, etc.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

That's not what I meant. The guy's been an obvious Wii fan since before it launched. Look up some of the stuff he said.

Many other people might just make it a big budget, HD game and put it on those.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

?

First of all, we don't even know if it will be Wii only, so my comments only reflect a wii only scenario since that's all we've been given so far.

However, there are a lot of games that could be ported to the HD systems at a low cost which could make a very tidy profit. There are a LOT of old gamers on PS360; old gamers that played NBA Jam, and so have that nostalgia factor going into a purchase.

Additionally, the industry seems to think that if a game comes out for the HD twins, it needs to have killer graphics. This is simply not true.
