I know what you mean. I kept on flipping over GTA4 and MGS4's manuals over and over again saying to myself "just a little while longer, you almost have enough money, just a little longer" lol! that was like some kind of sick torture

whenever i see a previously sega exclusive game, and Sonic on a console other than a sega console, i say to myself that something just doesn't feel right.

I wouldn't really count that. I bought my 360 bundle from play and then bought a few games from GAME.co.uk and those came first, but it doesn't really count

Yes. The first time I bought a Control for my Gamecube before the console, because a friend of mine was going to bring it to me from USA and she was going to arrive 2 months later, but the control was available at a good price in my country.
And Legend of Zelda for the Wii, because my girlfriend want it for christmas but the Wii was out of stock everywhere. So I bought the game I had to wait to buy the console.

The day before I got my 360 I was wandering around a used game store called Disc Replay and saw LO for $15, BD for $10, Banjo for $25, and Kameo for $8. The only one I didn't feel ripped off on was LO. Luckily I later bought Fable II and Halo 3 and finally didn't regret my purchase, and with the recent release of Bayonetta want to make baby 360s for allowing me to play this awesome game at its best.

It was pretty much a spontaneous decision without much planning behind it. I'd planned to buy a 360 within a month or so but basically it was an unplanned impulse buy after i saw the games for cheap.

I also had started buying PS3 games before I got my PS3. I got Ratchet, Folklore, and Resistance because they were all under $20 a few days before I actually bought my 20GB PS3 on eBay (which is now a 320GB PS3). 

I had a PS2 game collection before ever buying the console. I got the first one because my roommate (who doesn't play games) pointed out a daily doorcrasher sale at Futureshop for $50 off The Getaway: Black Monday which had just released. After that I kept buying games when I saw good deals, but I didn't buy a PS2 until the next price drop.

Nope never.

Got me a 360 in September 2007 (borrowed some games from my brother)

And finally ordered a PS3 online with LBP, MGS4, GT5P, Resistance, Resistance 2, R&C Tools of Destruction, Uncharted in January 2009

I bought Resident Evil Zero for the GCN before i got a new GCN since the first one was broken. I also got Metroid Prime Trilogy just yesterday before i got a new TV since the last one was broken when i stumbled and throw it to the floor.

boughr Everquest before i got my PS2. i didnt know thats online only. :/
