It surpassed pretty much all expectations; most weren't expecting it to cross 2.5 million.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune has sold 2.94 million to date.

So, with 310k to go...is there still anyone who doubts that Uncharted 2 will outsell its predecessor?

Last Week:

Uncharted 2: 123k

Uncharted: DF: 28k

Uncharted 2 is now the 15th best selling PS3 game, just below ACII, and the 6th best selling PS3 exclusive (5th best selling first party published game)

And U2 was not bundled the way that Uncharted1 was IMO

The U2 bundle was an expensive one (350$) while the Uncharted 60gb one was price dropped to clear out the last 60gb (in my memmory) when the 40gb was released

Now it is pretty obvious U2 will destroy U1 particularly since those games seems to have good legs

Time to Work !

uncharted 2 is the fastest selling sony 1st party game, so it will outsell U:DF in about 3 weeks

I'm going to say it will have outsold Uncharted: Drake's Fortune by mid-February. It will cross 3 million a little earlier than that, and should hit 4 million by year's end, perhaps 4.5.

Good result. It's sure to pass the first, and deservedly so. Looking forward to number 3 already.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

A few more tid bits:

Its tracking above COD4 & AC1 which indicates 4 Million + is very very likely with the chance of 5 million if uncharted 2 isn't released till 2012!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Shows what decent marketing can do. Sony managed to encapture exactly what makes Uncharted so great via its ad campaign (it's like a movie! but you play it!), and between the ads, the contests, and other promos, Uncharted 2 received far more attention than the original Drake's Fortune. Left4Dead 2 is showing similar gains over its predecessor for similar reasons. Valve really stepped up their game with that one.

It looks like Sony is going to be pushing God of War III as heavily as (if not more so than) Uncharted 2, if the God of War Collection, God of War III Ultimate Edition, and apparent limited edition bundle are anything to go by. Assuming the game stands up to the first two, I wouldn't be surprised to see God of War III hit 3.5 million, besting the sales of the original.

I'm glad Sony is finally giving their games the attention they deserve. I honestly think LittleBigPlanet was advertised better this past holiday than it was when it was released. Games can be the darling of trade shows all they want (Killzone 2), but in the end it's the mindshare of the public that matters most.

on the PS3.

there are many more all time like GT

UC:DF will reach 3.5 mark and UC:AT will cross 4.5 ,both excellent games

That would mean that U:DF would have surpassed 3 million by mid-February as well, which means ~60k in ~6 weeks. Do you really see it selling 10k per week, after the holidays? I'd imagine it would sink back down to 5-6k personally.
