Whats the margin of error on Vgchartz hardware? + or - 10%? Anything which falls within that range is probably just noise. It would be like saying that the poll results were up 2% on a poll with a 3% margin of error. Statistically noone ought to pay any attention to it, its just noise on the graph.

Smooth out the sales of the PS3 to 2 week periods to remove noise and put a pointer saying this is where Uncharted 2 entered the market and you'd probably see nothing of significance.

If we keep changing the meaning of system seller to ever lower quantities of hardware it really dilutes the meaning of the words. So in the future do we go:

Uncharted 2 is a system seller.

Metal Gear Solid is a system seller.

Halo 3 is a system seller.

Wii Fit is a system seller.

Wii Sports is a system seller.

and just keep increasing the size of the text. maybe next year we can say:

Gran Turismo is a System Seller

Well, a system seller can be a number of things. You have moderate system sellers, which nobody argued that Uncharted 2 wasn't, and you have larger ones. Doesn't make either of them untrue, but it puts things in perspective.

My point remains though, and wasn't proven wrong. As for God of War III, you be the judge in March. Pay attention though, it will movce hardware.

Well a reliable car can be a number of things. You can have a car which only starts on dry days, one that breaks down only once a month or once a year or once every two years. I mean reliability is relative. /used car sales guy spin. It doesn't mean that used car sales guy saying that your car breaking down once every 3 months after you bought it is fine and you shouldn't get your money back because you know its more reliable than some other cars which break down more. Thats also a perspective.

Another word for perspective is spin. It takes a concept which is truthful in an absolute sense and twists it to suit an agenda. Sure you can say that Uncharted 2 'sold' systems. Whats the word? Oh yes, if we're all special... then noone is special. I just watched The Incredibles with the kids last week so I remember that quote. Argue all you want that Uncharted 2 sold systems because either people will say you're full of it and ignore you or they will treat any blip that comes along to coincide with a game as a system selling game. Eventually people will treat it with derision just the same as if I were to state that 'X game is a 500k seller OMG!!!'

Then you changed your mind and then changed it back again. Agreeing to disagree only works when you stop disagreeing.

So timeline:

CGI Quality disagrees.

CGI Quality agrees to disagree.

CGI Quality then disagrees.

CGI Quality then agrees to disagree.

So which one is it?

I also disagree with "moderate". A cumulative 5k worldwide weekly bump with no sustained effects afterwards is not "moderate". It's statistic noise.

I'm clarifying my position, Uncharted 2 wasn't even a "system seller". Just like every post-launch 1st party PS3 game before it (bar possibly GT5P, though that was technically a "demo").

every title is a "system seller" as long as the hardware in the week it's released is higher than the previous week.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

Did the Wii have shortages in NA? I had not heard that...

Bah!

This is just confusion of the definition of technically.

Technically, you are not using the word correctly.

Unless, Technically Wii sports is a tech demo, technically!

See anyone can use the word and attach it to something.

Technically, you're wrong.  "Technically" has an actual applied definition in my usage, being that GT5P was something a limited primer for GT5 (ie: a demo).  This doesn't in any way, case or form apply to something like Wii Sports.
