tbh.....i dont think inFamous can be bigger than UC 2 it just does not has the appeal. off topic i found infamous to be very boring when i finished it in Hero or good more ( not story , just good missions ) but it was a blast payin as evil on Hard.

Pharaoh said: No it won't. Infamous was nowhere near the game uncharted was. I loved uncharted, everything was done great except a little too much combat in the middle of the game. Infamous on the other hand, felt very repetitive, limited in scope, and didn't have an engaging story line/characters to pull you in. It won't do any where close to what uncharted 2 accomplished. Uncharted 2 is perhaps the most polished, engaging, and brilliant game we will see this gen. |
You forgot to put the "IMO". Now IMO InFamous actually had a very engaging storyline, some lovable characters, and others hateable. I liked Zeke alot in the beginning and then he bothered me later on. Having beat InFamous both on Good and Evil stories, there are several differences in story, character perception towards you and powers, as well as missions.
The story has a definite comic book feel so it does this game no justice to compare it to Uncharted as it is very different. Missions in InFamous include: Disarming surveilance devices on a building, escorting a train and restoring power to the tracks while fighting baddies, escorting prisoners that may try to escape/attack you/have accomplices that may try to free them, climbing on a bus and protecting it from enemies, using some stealth to follow enemy couriers without getting caught, sniping UAV's from the sky, restoring power to certain parts of the city (while obtaining new powers), among SEVERAL other mission types. Some missions depend on whether your alignment is good or evil and have other twists to them. The story also has several interesting twists, and depending on your alignment you will either start liking Cole or hating him for his comments and reactions.
On my second playthrough I went evil side on hard mode and it was quite challenging. It is a true sandbox game especially after all gets unlocked to you, and after beating it, if you ignored sidequests and power shard collection, you can go back and take care of those. If you're evil, you can just run around terrorizing the population.
The only downside the game had were some minor glitches ie invisible walls. I did fall off the world once after 2 playthroughs. For a sandbox the graphics were pretty good. For a Sequel I would like to see no glitches or ones extremely hard to find, for the story to stay on track, more powers (perhaps time travel), and maybe for your saved data from part 1 to carry on to part 2 (probably wishful thinking but would make sense for this game).
Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)
I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/ hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.
although we can hope for that... i don't think it will happen... what naughty dog have done with uncharted its a bit impossible to sucker punch to do with infamous... open world games are far more hard to make this kind of leap then linear story games... this in graphically terms. in gameplay terms sucker punch need to make an improvement like ubisoft did with assassin's creed with is very likely to be possible... infamous is much better then AC1 so infamous 2 could be a little better then AC2... and since AC2 is selling better in PS3 than uncharted 2 (with i don't really understand how is this possible) infamous 2 could really be a big hit but not make such a splash like uncharted 2 did...
Proudest Platinums - BF: Bad Company, Killzone 2 , Battlefield 3 and GTA4
I don't think so. Infamous was good, but Uncharted 1 had a lot more going for it.
Better graphics, physics engine and hopefully a really good storyline like the first and we shall see.
You know what? I have both Uncharted 1 and Infamous and I gotta say I like Infamous more. I'm having a blast playing as the good guy (soon I'll start as evil), the gameplay is fantastic. I'm always climbing buildings and riding cables lol. Also, it's cool to have civilians attacking enemies with rocks and it's hilarious the way some girls act when they are close to Cole. I love Uncharted, but inFAMOUS is just a little more fun to me.
That said, I don't think we will see the same fate for infamous 2 the same way we did with Uncharted 2, even though I would like to!
I think infamous 2 will be much better than infamous but I'd stop short of making comparisons to uncharted.
Infamous 2 cannot be the new uncharted 2 because if it did, it wouldn't be infamous, it would be the new uncharted 2 :p
The 2 games have nothing in-common other than being ps3 exclusives.
1) one is sandbox the other is linear
2) one is the 3rd person over the shoulder shooter the other is platformer
3) one is more action/ adventure and puzzle orientated the other is more platform and adventure
4) one can achieve high end visuals since it is linear whilst the other has set backs for having to stream a large open map
It is safe to assume that Infamous2 will be the new Infamous. This is why we should look forward to it. Be more of the same with improvements wherever possible.
Infamous is not universally accepted as a must have exclusive. Lots of 7/10-8/10 reviews. Also technically it's not outstanding. Unless Infamous 2 really ups the ante, it'll remain a sleeper hit.
I don't know if it will be Uncharted 2 big but it should be a LOT bigger then the first InFamous game.
