On another note, Uncharted 2 puts MGS4 to shame in the narrative department. U2 actually delivers a true cinematic experience.

Looking at this thread I think opinions are divided by those who prefer either 1 and 3 (together) or 4.

IMO MGS4 = MGS3 > MGS1 > MGS2

I love MGS2. The gameplay is solid, filled with some nice variety and easter eggs: being able to smack hostages, defusing bombs, bunch of codec and mic moments, grabbing dog tags, swimming, escort mission, taking pictures and sending them to Otacon, etc. The AI was also smart; they'll call for backup when they see broken glass, newspaper shredded, fruits destroyed, etc.

What sucked about the game was near the end where the story went complete bonkers. Another thing that I hated was Rose & Raiden talking after saving the game. I mean all I want to do is save my game, not hear your life story. And oh yeah, Raiden whines to much.

Heh, Looks like you're the only one here! :)

But... 2nd best is just the first loser! I believe nobody in the world actualy prefers MGS2 over the others! Right?

I don't know, the only thing why I put MGS1 over MGS2 is because of Sniper's Wolf death scene. That scene still brings me to tears to this day, no other scene in any MGS has been as powerful and inspiring as that one to me :)

MG4 was nice, but just wasn't on par with those two!

Even though PS1 graphics were fugly (even back then, IMO), MGS 1 was amazing, because it demonstrated a lot of new possibilities! And had a nice story and cool bosses!

MGS3 was the same, plus the ending shocked me like few games do! At this part shown in the picture, with the main theme playing, I was like: OMG WOWOOWOWOW! I LOVE YOU BOSS!!!

But, hey! At least I consider it a game not a 8 hour (bad) cutscene like MGS2!

I agree! MGS1 = MGS3 > MGS4 > MGS2

It depends in which order you played MGS4 in was it before Uncharted 2 or after, because if you played it after, then of course it is going to look slightly overrated, when MGS4 first came out it was the best game for PS3 and it kept me happy for a long time, but I must admit it Uncharted 2 did throw it out of that position, Uncharted 2 just feels such an Epic game to me.

Finally MGS1 is the best in the series to me, if you could add MGS4 contols and graphics to it as a remake, it would be like heaven to me.
