Forums - General - GOD!! I love the Lord of the Rings Movies!!

one of the best trilogys' ever, loves these movies (Fellowship is the best)

I love the books (including the Hobbit). They are much better than the movies IMO. No real anti-hero though. All of the good guys wore white hats or something.

The movies basically were a bunch of guys walking and talking that were occasionally interrupted by a battle. Phenomenal special effects though. I will say that.

Only seen the trilogy once and never the extended versions. Gotta see them again some time.

Btw, the Hobbit is a terrible book.

This does not begin to capture it. Somebody help me out

The internet is always obliging. I found this in 20 seconds.

I love the movies too, they were really great and I saw them all in the theater. I'm sure the hobbit movies will turn out good though. I haven't read any of the books yet, but I'm planning to this year.

I am still waiting LoTR Blu-Ray collection (same with Star Wars).... Awesome movies.

Fellowship of the Ring - 4/10. Pretty boring movie. Way less action then the two sequels.

The Two Towers - 9.9/10. Awesome movie! My fav in the series, it had lots of epic battles.

Return of the King - 9.7/10. Another awesome movie! Close 2nd.

Lord of the Rings Series as a whole - 9/10. Would be higher without FoTR.

The first one was maybe boring at the beginning...But damned I thought it was awesome after the first half also very emotional...Gandalf, Boromir.... I am happy Peter Jackson cut out that guy from the woods...(Only in the books character).

there is no real point in comparing books and movies as they each do their own thing,

anyway i also agree that the movies are a great watch,i love the exetended versions and will get them on blu-ray for sure,i did see them at the cinema,i do like to catch the big movies at a cinema for full effect,

whats not to like about gandolph and the rest, especially sexy elven women like tyler and blanchett they should have a spin off film,ELVEN FEMALE WARRIORS in sexy cosplay of course, but then in the books the elves get more time than in the films as far as i remember

tolkien did the business if you ask me,the age old battle between light and dark, never fails

It was one of the best movies of all time to me each movie is an achievement in cinema and film making. The only part that stills bothers me to this day is in ROTK

Seriously this is how the Witch King of Angmar dies !!!

other than that it's incredible.

It literally makes me sad that Soriku called 'The Hobbit' a horrible book. Personally I find it to be most appealing thing J.R.R. Tolkien was ever responsible for. While 'The Lord of the Rings' long-standing impact on fantasy in general (particularly in literature) is inarguable, the books are, to an extent, actually pretty boring. They take themselves to seriously. 'The Hobbit', however, has this unique, fantastic charm; it's been one of my favorite books since I was like 6 (and let me tell you, it was ROUGH reading it that young).

On a side note, has anybody seen the old animated movie of 'The Hobbit'? Totally awesome.
