It literally makes me sad that Soriku called 'The Hobbit' a horrible book. Personally I find it to be most appealing thing J.R.R. Tolkien was ever responsible for. While 'The Lord of the Rings' long-standing impact on fantasy in general (particularly in literature) is inarguable, the books are, to an extent, actually pretty boring. They take themselves to seriously. 'The Hobbit', however, has this unique, fantastic charm; it's been one of my favorite books since I was like 6 (and let me tell you, it was ROUGH reading it that young).
On a side note, has anybody seen the old animated movie of 'The Hobbit'? Totally awesome.
