I have no 'little theory'. I think Halo is still very successful as a franchise and Reach will definitely sell millions, nobody's contesting that.

Now beating GT5 sales ? I don't think so.

@kowenicki : If Halo was going up as a franchise, yeah I think ODST should have sold more, 4.36 million vs more than 10 million is a huge decline.

Now of course Reach should sell more than ODST (but less than Halo 3) in my opinion, since it's not an addon but a full release. Maybe 7 million, maybe 8, don't know. But probably less than GT5, which should sell 9 or 10 million.

If GT5 follows the trend of the older GT's it would sell over 10 million + but given the smaller install base on the PS3 it may or may not be possible.

The poll means nothing, there are 3 Sony fans on this site for ever Microsoft one.

- an addon like ODST selling only 4 million is a sign the Halo franchise is a bit less strong as before in my opinion

- as a full game, I think Reach will sell more than the ODST addon, but probably less than Halo 3.

- in any case, I think GT5 sales will be greater (9/10 million vs 7/8 million maybe).

FFXIII isn't in the running. It'll be lucky to reach 9mil, while the other two will easily make the mark. It's going to be close between the two, assuming no bundles.

I can't imagine Reach selling under 9 million copies. Regional breakdown:
Japan: .2mil
Americas: 7mil
Others:  2.8mil

I see Gran Turismo 5 ending around the same total, looking like:
Japan: 1.4mil
Americas: 3.1mil
Others:  5.5mil

I actually don't see either game passing Halo 3 (which is still selling well), but that's me.
