It would have been great if you could buy games that didn't suck, they focused too heavily on terrible 80s games.

I like the Game Room although after playing nearly every game demo I found most of them to be awful although there were a few I enjoyed. Asteroids Deluxe, Lunar Lander (is crack...) and Centipede were a lot of fun to play and I bought them, a couple of other games Red Dawn I might pick up down the line. Hopefully we get more 90s games and make this really stand out
ive just tried it, its simply no good.
best thing is i got free 15g gamerscore though. but all games are old atari and intellivision games and the prices are ridiculous.
i clicked on random game, it was 2 block tanks shooting each other cant remeber whats it called,, absolutly attrotious game, it was 240ms points to buy the game for your own room, or 400 points to buy the game to play anywhere in gameroom.
absolute joke prices. buy hey many people may like it, the interface is quite slick, and i like the debug setting for the games and the grafix of the gameroom look good.
...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...
PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk
really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...
Would be nice to have newer games, at least from the 90's. Put some Capcom, Sega games in there and it would own. I would buy all the Saturn and Dreamcast games, if they ever come out with them.
At the moment, the game selection doesn't really interest me.

looks like it's mainly the games that people don't bother playing anymore
Doesn't target their core audience at all. "Here, teens and early twenty-somethings...here are tons of games that were replaced by much better games by the time you were born". lol

I like it a lot. I used to play a lot of the games as a kid.
Apparently they are going to add 7 games per week. There will be some good stuff for people who don't like the current lineup...
I advise you to listen to the Major Nelson Podcast last week:
http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2010/03/21/show-354-sxsw-mix-pax-east-game-room-and-more.aspx
from the 54:36 minute mark for about 20 minutes is all about game room. He mentions Pitfall, Chopper Command, Time Pilot, Neo Geo Pocket, River Raid, and all Intellivision games. Talks about bringing Colecovision game manuals in for the development team.

If you want to add some Asteroids level mayhem to Lunar Lander, get ahold of Gravitar. That game is BRUTAL. One of the hardest games ever.
As it is now, Game Room is NOT for everyone. However, I find it fun to play Astro Smash and look forward to some 2600 Activision stuff to.
i think its a cool idea but im probably Not going to get into it.
Atto Suggests...:
Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series
Game - Metro Last Light
TV - Deadwood
Music - Forest Swords
