Since you've jinxed yourself, you need to un-jinx your first jinx but jinxing yourself again (double negative). Grab a salt shaker and throw it over your left shoulder and presto.........your PS3 will read discs again (unless you were supposed to throw it over your right shoulder, then you're screwed) :P.

Seriously though, since it's the disk drive you need to get someone to fix it for you or, if you're willing, learn off of youtube or something.

man idk how those guys do it...they like operate on the damn thing...theyre crazy lulz

That was actually suppose to be the joke... that you made it so clear not to say that... but then I did... and then... hmm...

Just forget it.

well, i apologize for killing your joke like that...maybe next time..

It's okay this time but don't do it again.

My girlfriends PS3 did something similar to this about a year ago. It would read a disc and if it did not error out in the first minute, it would read said disc forever. Once it took us about 8 tries before it worked properly.

All I did (and it still works flawless today) was take a can of condensed air and blow it into the disc drive. Make sure you do not flip the can over (so it freezes) and blow it in with the can right-side up. Can try some Dust Off or something similar (just nothing that leave any kind of residue).

dont worry it's easy to fix.

lens probably burned up. it's look like toshiba supplied blue light diodes and some optiarc are crapping out. all around, not only the ps3 it's affected.

try taking it to your local computer/electronics repair store, the one in my area also fixies PS3's and 360's
