Why the hefty Wii decline? Looks like they got some good stuff coming in the pipeline.

360 may have peaked last year, so they might be right on that. But 5% isn't bad.

PS3 is definitely going to finish up YOY.

You're right, I read the all the comments instead. Kenology and Rubang and Khuutra's comments in particular stood out for me so I threw in two cents.



Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:


If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

I think that the analysts are simply going by patterns now, PS3 increased 2008->2009 so it should increase 2009->2010, Wii and 360 decreased, so they should decrease again.

I can see the PS3 increase, maybe by even more than 10%, but it completely depends on the games that are announced during E3.
Wii? Dunno, can increase, can decrease (not by 20% though, 10% at "most"), depends on how long the NSMBW momentum goes, the vitality sensor games and whatever is announced in E3 (SMG2, MH3 and M:OM won't make a difference).
360? I think we will see a decrease, but it completley depends on Natal's success.



Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

I agree with all the numbers except the Wii, it wont be down anywhere near that. If it will be any kind of decline it will be minor, 1-5% tops.

I think most analysts if not all in the VG field are useless. Didn't analysts predict the Wii to do bad and PS3 to do great before release?

It's that quote right there that's pretty much everything they've said since the beginning of this gen. HDTV's (or BluRay) would see PS3 sales take off and it's never happened.

And they think Nintendo will have to drop the price again on the way to a 20% decline!?

All the positive Wii news the past couple days must've been too much: Nintendo owns Europe, Wii = 3mil in December, Wii is healthy again says Iwata, Nintendo stocks on the rise, etc.  Must've been too much for the poor guy!  Positive Wii news always makes the trolls come out - we've seen it for over 3 years now!

Hi 5!  I know after all these good news about Nintendo reaching certain mile-stones, one person must have bee so upset he quickly made a prediction which clearly states what wants not what he thinks.

meh.

360 will probably have slight decline, unless they have another sizeable price reduction then probably be flat.

PS3 will probably be level or slightly higher than last year, 10% only possible if there is another price reduction.

Wii will probably be flat regardless of anything.

there were more PS3 is "doomed" going to fail articles this year than wii one's

in fact there were zero wii one's from good sources

edit: if I remember correctly at the least 1 for PS3 from Yahoo
