more demakes? what's a demake?

Grab a concept and try to make it "older" gaving a retro atmosphere, for example here's a picture of a demake from American Mc Gee's Alice

Looks like a Windows 3.1 thing. dark Void for the DSiware is another example of demake.

I see for a minute I thought demakes was a typo for remakes lol

Buying in 2015: Captain toad: treasure tracker,

mario maker

new 3ds

yoshi woolly world

zelda U

majora's mask 3d

Isn't a demake like a port of a game to a less-capable hardware?

"The term "demake" was coined by Phil Fish, aiming to describe a remake of a game to a less-capable platform than the original. Demakes"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game_remake

He talked about the Dead Rising sales, this can be another "demake" for the Wii (SF4 or RE5).

Demake is a fucking stupid word.

Rubang, that FFX video was made of win.

I would like to see more games from Capcom on Wii.
They make good games and they are really fun - alone and with friends!!
Next Capcom release for Europe, that I'm waiting for is MH3!
About ports, why not if they are made good.
Dead Rising for Wii was ok and I still play it from time to time.

Greetings to everyone around the world!!

Capcom's original expectations were 500k Lifetime for the game.
200k/500k is not that great. However, "OK" is something hard to determine. They have lowered their expectations for other games by a large percentage, so maybe they went back and did the same thing for this too?

I'm guessing 375k Lifetime? That is a 25% drop. 60% of that is 200k. It isn't great, but a little over break even, which I assume is what he meant?....I don't know, I'm tryin.....

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

500k were shipment expectations.  We've no idea how many they actually shipped, they could've even met that already.

yeah it probably means it came reasonably close but short of the 500k. The good thing here is that Capcom seems aware of what people thought of the game.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

I just wish Capcom would have taken their time to let the developers port the game and give them decent financing. Dead Rising could have been a much better looking game than it actually is. But then everyone who purchased the game would be let down because Dead Rising 2 is not coming to the Wii.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

I like this idea of demakes, especially back to 8 and 16 bit styles, go Capcom

Uuuhhhh but the French guy said they're leaving.....

As for moments that didn’t quite hit or miss, Seth was a little more obtuse, but he did throw me a bone. “I’m preaching to the choir on this one, but Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop definitely got a bad rap. If you stop counting the number of zombies on the screen and just play, you’ll have some fun. People couldn’t help comparing it to the X360 game, which I can understand, but it did okay at retail, so I’d put this in a grey area.”

So Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop wasn’t a flop at retail, nor was it low moment for Capcom. Amazing. So what was? What was the low moment for Capcom in 2009? Was Seth even going to tell me, or was the infamous “we’re proud of all our titles” talk-block about to be put into play?

So this game wasn't a flop but Flock was. Anyway with Dark Void DSi seems like they have more at the bag.

To conclude on the topic of past and future, I had to ask a bit more about Dark Void Zero, the strictly under-wraps DSi demake of the upcoming 360/PS3 title. Was this game a signal that we’d be getting more NES-style games from Capcom this year?

Grinning ear to ear, Seth let me know that he’s “... happy to say there’s something else distinctly demake-esque coming soon. Of course, there’s also Mega Man 10, which isn’t so much a demake as a straight up high-five to the joys of classic gaming...”

And with that, we’re out of time. Tune in next time, when I talk more with Seth about Dark Void, Dark Void Zero, and Mega Man 10.

I thought it flopped?
