What could they be referring to?  A new IP that they expect to be large?  Are they talking about Fable, but if so, are they doing some of the Fable work in Redmond?  The game will be using UE3 or CryEngine it would appear.

Do you qualify? Anyway it could be anything at this point!

It's for Neo-Halo.

MS doesn't own the rights to Bungie's engine -- just the Halo IP. They have to use Unreal or CryEngine for the next one.

Also, since they have not yet decided on the engine, this one is pretty much guaranteed to be at least 2-3 years out.  Makes sense, relative to Halo: Reach's placement.  Don't expect it to ship with Natal.

If this is next-gen, as the posting states, it's more likely about 4 years out.  Next gen platforms take a while to work with, since the hardware exists only as prototypes and/or is nonexistent, until about a year before they ship.

Umm, Fable is a pretty big franchise.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

How many large franchise does MS have? Halo, Fable and Forza? um, maybe something from Rare? My money is on Fable but the location doesn't sound right... interesting.

It definitely could be referring to Fable, but does that mean it will be using UE3 or CryEngine?

Next-generation definitely could be referring to a new MS console, but the term has been used consistently to refer to this generation. Heck, they could even be referring to Natal as their next generation.

It could be anything. Shadowrun could be interesting, or insane Killer Instinct combo's on Natal! However, I really hope they don't ruin Age of Empires or Rise of Nations with this.
