Imagine Western Final Fantasy!
- First Person Shooter
- 95% grey and brown

- EVERYONE is on steroids!
- a storyline that is as interesting as a dump
- Over 28,000 irrelevant questions to answer to determine whether you are good or evil (good people use magic arrows, bad people use lightning)
- Magic damage is calculated by dice
- It would be totally uber/Epic/1337/hardcore!!!

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Nay.

I'd prefer a spin-off or preferably even a new IP.

There is one Western developed JRPG that I liked though, Secret of Evermore.

Weren't they here the last time the west made a final fantasy? Mystic quest anyone? (runs and hides)

huh?...MQ was developed by Sqauresoft not western developer??? or you talkin bout style?

Yes it was made by square but made specifically for western audiences

"Although designed by one of Square's development teams in Japan, Final Fantasy Mystic Quest was specifically geared for the U.S. market"

"After its U.S. debut, Final Fantasy Mystic Quest released in Japan under the title Final Fantasy USA: Mystic Quest. The European release of the game was titled Mystic Quest Legend to avoid confusion with Final Fantasy Adventure, which released in Europe as Mystic Quest. Final Fantasy Mystic Quest was first unveiled in June at the 1992 Summer Consumer Electronics Show in Chicago, where it was a popular venue,[2] and the game was later presented in more detail in the Fall 1992 issue of the Ogopogo Examiner."

Well, Xxain has already said it, the OP wasn't meant to be a FF targeted for western audiences, FF has been doing that for a long time, it was about a fully developed Western Style RPG FF, kind of Oblivion, Fallout, Borderlands, Diablo, etc etc etc.

hell no, we have too many "american empire " games already

I'll say yes, a change could be a good thing.

"Life is but a gentle death. Fate is but a sickness that results in extinction and in the midst of all the uncertainty, lies resolve."

I don't think it would hurt to get an extra pair of eyes on their games. If they made Final Fantasy or another rpg that borrowed some ideas from Oblivion it can only improve the game! Oblivion is a much better game than every Final Fantasy except 6 and 9! If for instance Square asked Bethesda for help I would not mind them taking a stab at Chrono, I think that could work!
